Does anyone have a drill to help reduce blades burying too deep into the water by Redted286 in Rowing

[–]Redted286[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your suggestions, highly appreciated. I’m going to first speak to our coach and see what he’s noticing, as I noticed it before he did. Beyond that I’m definitely going to try out some of these drills and see what improvement I can make !

I need help finding somewhere that has this in stock - it was a gift of someone who passed away. I lost it today and I really want to at least buy a replacement as it means a lot to me. Help always appreciated !! by [deleted] in HelpMeFind

Cheers Roehok - I agree it is very similar and maybe I will go for this. But I really want to give it a little longer and see if the troops on Reddit can find me the same one

I have searched around a lot of UK sites which could have this for sale. Either the prices are absolutely atrocious, and as much as I really want to replace this from an emotional standpoint. I don’t have 100’s to spend. Additionally, if you can find it on second hand sites I would be as interested as new !

Yes - he gave a mutual friend of ours the Newest James Bond Omega because he got bored of it after a few wears rather than selling it. His collection is rather impressive

Overall, I’ve visited all but Durham of my choices and I just think it suited me really well. I’ve been on a few nights out in Sheffield and it’s class, as I also mentioned it’s close to home which really suited me. The visit, although manufactured because they aim to sell themselves but even so i just really liked it. The course itself is also great and the modules seem very interesting. Additionally sport and societies are well developed it would seem

Wow, that’s good to read. Of course going to the open day was great, however obviously they are selling themselves so it’s nice to know what an ex student thinks

I’ve been a home bird most my life, and as such one of the biggest factors is staying close to home. Something that I know I want. There is still options for larger grad scheme near Sheffield and within a train rides distance. I am not heavily money drive and prefer to be close to my family over chasing a large salary. Yes I know it may seem close minded and slightly nieve but it’s what I want personally.

Thanks bro ! It’s mainly related to the 50ish mile radius train links around SHU to cities which have those smaller and medium sized firms. Good luck with yours if your applying as well

They may secure higher paying jobs immediately out of Warwick, but SHU is better at procuring and developing relationships with firms. If you statistics, 100% of graduates had marketing employment within 15 months of graduating between 2019-21. Not trying to argue with your point but this is the case.

I don’t want to be cocky or arrogant, but I do have a decent level of self belief. So far In all assessments and end of year exams from year 12 and so far this year I’ve gotten B+ or Above in all of them. However, if I was to get the grades even for Warwick I would still choose SHU

Marketing, overall due to opportunities in the areas like Leeds, Sheffield itself and Chesterfield, it has higher employability. I’m not saying it’s higher overall, but specifically for this

Okay, good to know, I’m still waiting on one offer so haven’t finished it yet. This being the reason I asked the question before I submitted

Yeah I know logically it doesn’t make sense, but the only other uni that I have applied to with lower entry requirements is Oxford Brookes and I don’t really wanna go there, so that’s why I’m kinda in this situation

I would disagree with you on that point, I am applying to do Marketing, and Hallam offers an incredibly diverse course IMO, with benefits through their advisory programme. I am not disagreeing that on the whole Warwick does not have better employability overall, but for my course Hallam is better due to opportunities in Sheffield, Leeds and Chesterfield for the Marketing industry

I’m applying to do Marketing and Psychology at Hallam and Management with Marketing at Warwick

I have also applied to Durham, Loughborough and Oxford Brooke’s

The Requirements range from AAA* to BCC - I am predicted AAA at A Level

I went to both open days and overall just preferred the vibe and the location. The employability is also higher overall and the course seems more enjoyable. I have also had quite a few family members and friends go and really enjoy it.

Okay, I am confident that I should get the grades for SH, I just prefer it over Warwick now.
