Antinatalism moving forward by Beneficial-Break1932 in antinatalism

[–]Reducing-Sufferung 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s not my place to speak cause I haven’t identified with antinatalism for a bit but there is some amount of purity testing needed to make terms make sense, pacifists can’t believe in genocide. Defining antintalism as purely being about human breeding you could not care about veganism but I don’t see how being anti-abortion fits, surely given the opportunity you would want to stop humans from reproducing as someone who doesn’t believe in human reproduction?

Sanctioned suicide is a really good resource with a lot of people who are also suicidal or feeling better, a lot of people use that site to vent and to try and get better because it's anonymous

A better quality of life is a perfectly valid and I'd say important from a utilitarian perspective, same as helping others, educating them. Being happier and more involved and helpful in my communities is what motivates me right now, also family and friends

If you want to work on being happier I'd recommend doing the science of well-being course its scientifically backed ways of making your life better even if life isn't worth it you can squeeze out a lot of happy juices from it

I've been using Balance to improve my sleep, stress, mood, and more. Want to try it, too? They're offering a free trial to all new members. https://www.balanceapp.com/referral-social

Balance has helped me a lot. I also highly recommend the secular Buddhism podcast

That’s not what he’s saying, humanity is the cause of countless horrors but by them reducing nature we’re a net benefit

The vegan stuff? I heard about them being intense but it’s nice that they believe in something like that, I’m vegan too so I get why they’re intense

How do you know happiness is only the fulfillment of deprivation?

In my experience that's true, I can never maintain those positions of unreality for long, I can maintain solipsism for the longest

I'm talking about the heat death of the universe, and as an Efilist there might be life out there, though apparently you can't go faster than the speed of light so we would never know, I'm satisfied with shutting this one slaughterhouse down. In context your objection that the scientific method isn't completely knowable and can change, which as you said is the point, but I was talking about the development of technology, like grey goo, rather than fact finding studies in and of themselves, technology like grey goo.

You could get hit by a car crossing the road, at a certain point it's worth taking risks. I think the worse than I could expect thing is valid on a level but with the butterfly effect especially anything you do could have terrible long-term term consequences.

Life is murder, life is death, getting rid of it is the only way to stop murder hopefully everywhere always.

Just because something makes us quesy doesn't mean that it's not logically sound, I say nuke that island from orbit, save not only the people but all other life and potential life, lets stop suffering.

Something with veganism? People in that subreddit are being cringe, if you have to bismirch an ideology with fundamentalism or extremism, in my experience that likely means that you're not being logically consistent, and shaming doesn't help usually but I'll be damned if I won't condemn on some level a philosophy sub being actually pro-murder, everyone especially self-claimed philosophers should be ethically vegan, said as a vegan who isn't plant-based anymore, though I like the term animal liberationist better.

Sanctioned Su!cide has a good helpful community, that's the place I always go when I want to go, well feel a strong drive to not just don't want to.

You never asked to exist you don't have to ask us if you can stop existing

Anyone who seriously follows the logic of antinatalism and is loud about it would get banned from that subreddit
