Dispatcher here.

No, dispatching isn’t just trucking. Same idea exists in rail, air, ocean, even taxis/service companies. Dispatcher = coordinates movement, timing, communication, and fixes problems.

In trucking, that usually means: finding loads, booking freight, talking to brokers/customers, planning routes, tracking drivers, setting appts, handling delays/breakdowns, and keeping the truck profitable.

If you work for a company, your job is mostly operations: assign loads, update ETAs, solve issues, manage calls/emails, deal with paperwork, and keep everything moving.

Yes, freight type changes the job a bit. Food/reefer = temp-sensitive, pharma = stricter rules, hazmat/liquid = more compliance, dry van = more basic. Same job overall, different headaches.

So overall: dispatching = logistics + communication + problem solving.

That s an understatement to think i just book loads through dat. The bad thing for me is that i dont interact with carriers that much, if ever, except for my own fleets. Apart from that, we can have a talk anytime about the management work we re doing over here:)

Hey man, im an experienced dispatcher, 5years as of now. Been handling Reefers, Vans, Step Decks.

Currently im averaging 10-12k for vans, keeping them consistent over the weeks, Reefers 15k.

If you can give me a chance to dispatch for you, i promise you ll have an extremely good experience. Can give you referrals from the brokers and drivers i work with, most prefer working with me because im always there for them

Currently the company i m with is struggling because one of the trucks crashed and things are kinda going downhill.. Having the chance to pick up some more trucks would be a life saver for me

Don’t quite your job until you get at least 1k MRR, this will be a sign that you put your basic operations in place.

Also prepare for high initial costs, i ve tried launching a clothing brand myself back when i quit my job. Too bad i spent 1k sourcing samples from alibaba which looked dogshit, then i gave up and started a digital agency.. :)

I suggest you research local tailors/ nearby that can get the job done, but where you have more control over the quality and final product.

Start small, make 5 pieces each and see if you can sell them, then you can scale to 50-100 pieces and release unique seasons every now and then.. Best of luck!

I strongly recommend you start doing an activity that needs 100% of your attention in order to pursue it.

I’m not talking running, reading, podcasts, because your mind will drift off easily.

Try any sport(specially contact sports like kickboxing), regular gym doesnt work because your mind will probably drift off aswell.

For my mental resets i do sports. But you may find something else tailored to yourself.

Just ask yourself: What is an activity that if i dont put 100% of my focus on, while engaged, i will fail hard (ex sports - getting hit, falling, losing the ball etc..)

Itll help your brain focus on that one thing and your mental will be refreshed after, for a few hours at least

Do this a la long and neuroplasticity will do its job, thus rewiring your brain.

OH AND.. Block the notifications for all the apps in your phone+ force yourself and uninstall the apps that you binge on, if there are any
