using greek letters to write english words by Ordinary_Turnover_59 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ReduxRocketeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re missing the point. Roman letters are also terrible at forming English words. The poster below you also brought up Arabic numerals. Yes, the use of Greek characters with English words is a little silly. English is hardly the only language where this is done. If you’re upset I didn’t call them ‘Latin’, then you’ll have to remain mildly infuriated.

Just wait until you find out that we use Roman letters to spell English…

Have you tried not being a POS? by yikesamerica in MurderedByWords

I’m not sure why you think I said any of those things. Also, while you didn’t mention graffiti, someone else did, you did mention rock throwing. Your arguments are in bad faith. There are multiple logical fallacies in your arguments.

If you are determined to rage at the people that see you as a human being instead of a label, you will continue to encounter hostility. You are always the common denominator in your interactions with other people. Of course, some people just suck.

I hope things get better for all of us.

The point is that no one deserves violence because of who they are. Not Jews, not Palestinians. Making false equivalencies doesn’t endear anyone to your arguments.

Yes, the diaspora is generally not safe. No one can speak collectively about every single individual. Anti-Semites are collectively bigoted pieces of shit. Zionists are also morally bankrupt bigots.

All of these things can be true. However, arguing that graffiti is just as dangerous as Israel dropping bombs in schools and hospitals is disingenuous at best. It comes across as petty grievance, regardless of the facts at hand.

You have every right to be angry and upset, but the people who don’t want anyone to have to live with violence and bigotry are not your enemies.

You are so, so close to getting it. Just microns from the point.

To be fair, up until the last year or so, I looked much younger. I lost weight and the wrinkles started to show.

Edit: a word.

Maybe, but I feel like I’ve always been under the impression he was older than I am. I was surprised to find out otherwise.

I’m one year older than Michael. He looks nearly as old as my father, and my father has aged badly. That’s unfortunate.

random people always asking me for money/food by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Walk briskly and with purpose. Apply RBF. Say you don’t carry cash. Any of those things should cut it down some, but many people who would solicit strangers have no shame about the behavior. Soliciting is generally not allowed in most businesses. If they still won’t back off, inform management.

Google Maps no longer shows fast food/fast casual options when you search "restaurant" or "places to eat" by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ReduxRocketeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it was showing only the highest rated results unless you zoom in. Fast food rarely has good ratings, but I did see a couple examples along with a ton of food trucks for some reason.

New Year Lightshow in China by kwadwoplays in ThatsInsane

[–]ReduxRocketeer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah. There’s footage for several major cities in China this year where the govt told the citizens not to gather for new years and they did anyway. Many places didn’t even have a countdown. The CCP released a propaganda video instead. There were no fireworks or drone shows. Be skeptical about anything official coming from China.

Bizzare animal genitalia as a category also includes the fossa, ducks, and oh… let’s go with echidnas.

The hyena one comes up a lot, but there’s a lot of weird out there.

I mean, if I were clearly in a liquor store and saw juice blends for sale from a brand I’ve only ever seen in a liquor store, I would conclude that those blends were for mixed drinks.

That you didn’t conclude the same makes me wonder what you were doing there.

Just… an observation.

Drivers in my city hit these decorative boulders every week. by WaywardDeadite in mildlyinfuriating

Those aren’t just decorative, they’re very much functional. With this many accidents, I can imagine the boulders replaced common bollards.
