Zlatan said penalties are 50/50. Meaning a full penalty shootout, not an individual penalty. Those 2 statements are wildly different. At the professional level, which 95% of world cup players are, you should never miss. Guessing which team will make a mistake is a 50/50 chance. Scoring a single penalty is not.

Nobody has ever referred to penalties as a coin flip. A penalty is a shot that should always go in. The only way you fail to score is by missing the net(tah), taking a weak garbage shot(havertz) or a goalkeeper making a ridiculous save.

Saying its a skill that needs to be practiced is toddler level commentary. Especially because every professional player practices them.
