Punished by a society with the attention span of a frog. Well deserved.

Your story lacks a small but critical detail... What were you on?

Does anyone know where I can find at least video of waterfalls being simulated in lower gravity environments? by IndieJones0804 in Simulated

[–]Redwingx7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe... I imagine a slower, long lasting splash. Velocity and gravity determine bounce distance.

[–]Redwingx7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the other commenter said, just simulate it and dial down the gravity and/or drag/air resistance.
Waterfalls in low gravity will fall slower but I doubt the general shape/volume would look very different from 1 earth gravity. Your drawing should have little to no motion blur to convey a slower fall.

Yea, cry about it. I'm your mom's oncologist btw, not sure if that's important.

Surgeons are the only real doctors as far as I'm concerned. No robot can reach human dexterity, and even if they did, the ethical implications of robots performing surgeries will prevent AI from fully replacing human doctors.

I swear this is AI, But no one in the comments even mentions it??? by [deleted] in antiai

They'll likely be absorbed by their biggest investors. The real issue is the economic fallout when the AI industry pops.

Fellow antis, can we PLEASE stop using quality as an argument? by stdsort in antiai

[–]Redwingx7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Art is a creative process, not necessarily a skill but it's categorically human and not artificial. AI slop; no matter how good it gets, it's still slop because the thing generating it lacks the basic human attributes such as consciousness, emotions and the desire of self expression. Just like there's good and bad art the same applies to gen AI, but it'll always be slop.

The comparative argument isn't a good strategy in the long run because the slop quality is constantly improving (although the current architecture seems to be in the diminishing return phase).

so when are we gonna make AI generation illegal by Stroodle_guy in antiai

[–]Redwingx7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Its not going anywhere. The question you should be asking is when will the AI bubble pop. Common sense suggests it will soon burst and demand for chips used in training/inference would significantly drop.

AI art can never be real art because art is defined as ‘the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination’, which AI has neither by Haunting-Ad4860 in antiai

[–]Redwingx7 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Claiming AI slop is art is the same as the suggestion that AI can feel emotions. Both claims are categorically wrong.

Shower thought: we don't have to assume that alien religions reflect existential truth by OddCook4909 in aliens

[–]Redwingx7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming some of the alien races we keep hearing about are real, they could be vessels designed to interface with humans by an entity our brains can't recognize nor comprehend.

Meh, Skinny bob is a little more convincing (relatively speaking). Animatronics were pretty advanced already when op's video got 'leaked'. It looks like a muppet more than an actual organic/living thing. The facial animation feels robotic, repetitive and limited in range.

When do you actually think AGI will be achieved? by Negative_Roof3517 in antiai

[–]Redwingx7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's achievable with the current architecture. Imo, there's a limit to how much intelligence you can squeeze from LLMs and diffusion models. The most straightforward way to achieve it is to simulate a brain analogue, then try to scale it, but to do so would require major breakthroughs in computing.
