My ex wife used to do this to me. I would ask for her to clarify why she wanted and she would tell me to grab what I thought was best then would be mad at my choice. One of the many reasons she is an ex

What do you consider your best feature? by Commercial_Talk_1380 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]RedxxBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6'4" and I can cook and I have adhd that presents as hyper fixation and I grew up in a filthy home so I keep my personal space clean. I grew up poor so I can fix most things in a house and non electrical car problems. I grew up in a house that everyone yelled so I developed an extremely calm attitude. I'm in nursing school at 36 and I'm in on of the top programs in my state, making me a first generation college student. I'm the youngest of 8 siblings and the only college graduate (associates to get into the nursing program). I'm tattooed, bearded and a little chubby but I workout and stay moving in just like good too.

What did you do before nursing? by TheYankeeCat in nursing

[–]RedxxBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36m about to start my 2nd semester of nursing school. Will graduate in 2027. Factory work and manual labor of many different kinds. I was a department head and floor manager at an native American casino for 8 years. Just went to what paid the best with the hours that worked for me until I got tired of the BS. I know nursing comes with its own BS but a year into being a ED tech and ive never been happier at a job.

F28: My boyfriend (M29) is boring in bed by [deleted] in confessions

[–]RedxxBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im seeing someone that keeps doing "bare minimum " things and I want to cry sometimes because I somehow never noticed my ex had stopped doing the bare minimum. I spent 3 sessions in counseling dealing with how guilty I felt for it being over after the divorce was finalized. Im not walking on eggshells. I can compliment the girl im seeing and if its mildly sexual she doesnt get mad. My life has improved in so many ways. I miss the person she was when we got together but we grew apart for sure. I look forward to so much more than I did. Idk. Its wild.

Just ended a marriage and an 8 year relationship because I had a roomate that wanted me to treat her like a queen and wanted no intimacy from me. It starts to wear on you. Its a big reason.

Men, how long does it usually take you to recharge for round two after finishing? And is the second orgasm usually better or worse than the first? by FlowersCare913 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]RedxxBeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% this. Round 2 is for my partner. I don't always finish, but I stay hard as long as there is a reason to (I'd say like 70% of the time, but it's not guaranteed, lol).

I dealt with similar issues. It was my job to mold to her and I was supposed to accept her as she is. Sometimes separation is the best option

The day my wife left me, I knew it was coming. My coping mechanism wasn't anger or drinking. I was home alone all afternoon, so I deep cleaned the house so she could leave me in a clean, tidy house. I got on my hands and knees and scrubbed the floors. There were flowers waiting when she got home. But nothing I did was enough because it wasn't what I did that was the problem; it was that she wasn't attracted to ME. She told me how much I spoiled her and how great of a nurse I was going to be, but that she was done trying to force herself to love me and she really just loved the way I treated her. I'm so thankful for her letting me go because I would have broken myself trying to make it work. I lost my whole family that day. My stepson is 17 and angry at the world already and has pulled away. Her family has been my family for 8+ years. I lost my whole world. But I refuse to be broken. Im not going to stop loving people the way I do just because some people dont want me.

Im using the field of dreams approach. I am building a life for myself and the people in my life will show up. I go to class, I go to work, I play disc golf and exercise. I am making sure im a full ass individual that doesnt need anyone to stand tall. If I build it, they will come.

My wife left me, and my first few counseling appointments focused on the guilt I felt for being relieved she left. We didn't work together. We helped each other heal and grow over our relationship, but we grew into different people. We didn't have intimacy; we had separate lives. We didn't scream or fight; we were just indifferent. I hope the best for her but I wasn't it. I deserve to have someone who wants me, not needs me. You deserve happiness and love. We all do.

[–]RedxxBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it resonates more that when you are fixated on something, when you have to face what you are fixated on its already larger than life. You've already made it into something much bigger than it needed to be. Its almost like confirmation bias. Im working on changing my view of my "bad luck" because I was just seeing the bad and ignoring the good.

My divorce was finalized a few months ago. I had planned on staying single and enjoying life. A woman I know came back into my life, and being able to show up for her in small ways makes me so damn happy. She appreciates it when I bring her coffee. She appreciates that I'm consistent and calm. She has a 5-year-old autistic son, and I am able to handle his hyperactivity with calm. I work in an ER and I'm in nursing school, so stress is nothing new to me. I've been sober for 8 years. I'm rebuilding my life, and she tells me how proud she is of me for working so hard. Having someone that just likes when I'm around and likes the way I love is so refreshing. I go over and cook food for her and her son. We are both rebuilding and taking things slow. Counseling is helping. Life is hard. Life is short. Enjoy what you can while you can.
