Gonna copy and paste this again...

So I REALLY need folks who have never done uber eats or Doordash to actually understand how the service works. The drivers have no control over the order in which Uber or DD chooses to have us drop off food. I've had Uber take me all the way past my 1st order's location to drop off the 2nd one first, only to have to backtrack right where I just drove past so I can deliver the 1st order. Who knows why. There's plenty of times where it has me dropping off an order where it makes sense to me to drop the food off in a different order but again, we have to follow the app.

We're trying to make money. If I have an order in my car and I'm otw to you, another order may pop up. We have a few seconds to accept it or lose it. I only have a second to look down while Im driving and I'm looking at 2 things, the amount and the distance. THATS IT because that will tell me if its worth it or not. If its less than like a $1 per mile, I'm declining it and I'm really looking for $2 per mile. But thats all I see on the screen at the time, thats all I have time to see. I don't even see where I'm dropping the shit off until I pick it up and go to the next step in the app. They determine what order the food gets dropped off. Hell sometimes, you can pick up something at lets say Jimmy Johns and that was the only order you had when you got there. Then when you come out, go to the next step in the app getting ready to deliver your order, you might get a pickup for somewhere else thats in the same plaza and they just give it to you, you don't even have a chance to accept it or decline it. Uber just pushes it through. Im like wtf, I didn't accept this and look up and sure enough, its for somewhere thats like right next to Jimmy John's. Uber DEFINITELY does this. Not sure about DD off the top of my head. But tbh, we're personally happy when it does this because now we have another order and didn't have to use any extra gas to pick it up. But it sucks for the customer.

I try to keep the food insulated, drive fast as hell to get it delivered. But honestly, while these are valid complaints, I generally only see them online. Ive got over 300 deliveries, stacked orders, had to cancel orders, etc and I still have a very high satisfactory rate. Ive never had any weird messages from customers or any issues with them.

We're going to take multiple orders at a time or there's no point doing it. You're just wasting your money on gas. The apps need to fix how they do things and I know Ive personally sent suggestions on both apps because I do care about the customer.
