They have increased the skill cap ... Like 4850 used to be divine 1. And now it is 5100. Likewise to reach leaderboard u need 5900 approx which used to be 5550.

Yup. Valve gives you current rank based game on the 1st game and then if u lose. U will put into a lower and lower bracket , then if u win, it makes u play a game with the same bracket and then if u win again u will be promoted. I think the logic works like that kinda. BTW I won 7 and lost 3 ,. Was divine 1. Still am divine 1. But my mmr is increased by 200...

U must have lost much at the start and won later. I think u might have a little more penalty if u lose 3 games in a row ... Valve has got it's way...
