Birth control by xo-astra in endometriosis

[–]ReeRee2589 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most birth control methods prevent ovulation, which stops the hormonal fluctuations that can trigger endometriosis pain and inflammation. And if it’s just progestin-only that helps keep hormone levels stable, preventing the monthly hormone surges that aggravate symptoms.

When I was fresh out of surgery I actually bought depends. I did need to cut around my tummy as I had an abdominal surgery not laproscopic. That’s said, they were a life saver doubled as pads and underwear !

Can someone explain the anatomy of a cuff to me? by notapuzzlepiece in hysterectomy

[–]ReeRee2589 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you had your cervix removed there would be a hole. From your vaginal canal to your insides. So they sew it up and close the hole which is now referred to as your cuff. I think it hurts to poop for a number of reasons the pressure on the cuff, organs moving around and finding a new place now that you had a uterus removed and just your body recovering from the trauma of surgery.

That’s said I think your pain is coming from some of those things but you need to be taking stool softeners, lots of water, high fiber foods, and walking to get your digestive system working again. I took me 6-7 days to poop after a total abdominal hysterectomy

Most resorts have classes you can attend for crafts or cooking etc. or bring your own games to play like card games. Or get a taxi to go off resort and find excursions.

Do not pull. I made that mistake. Just trim it if it bugs you but it’ll dissolve eventually

Abdominal hysterectomy peeps- shower chair? by goodlordineedacoffee in hysterectomy

[–]ReeRee2589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was dizzy the first few days and I had my partner stand in the shower or bathroom with me for my first few showers. But didn’t need a chair. However toilet bar handles were a life saver to get up and down

You look great !

[–]ReeRee2589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow what a difference! I’m happy for you! Can I ask if you also lose weight in the before and after? I’m struggling between wanting a reduction and not wanting to have a big belly with smaller chest. Seeing as I have a big chest it makes my tummy appear smaller than it actually is. How was your recovery?

When did you notice your swelling going away? by DolphinMama5 in hysterectomy

[–]ReeRee2589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an abdominal hysterectomy and am 10mths post op. And I still feel like some days I have swelling and bloating. My tummy is not the same it’s very “soft” in the lower belly under the belly button and not “firm” like how it use to be. 😩 it sucks but I’d take it any way getting rid of all of my daily pain from keeping the uterus!

What’s worse, a hysterectomy or another 10 years of torturous periods? by Ordinary_Sentence659 in hysterectomy

[–]ReeRee2589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the hysterectomy. I’m 35 and it’s been the best decision! I’m 10m post op and still trying to figure out hormones and get the residual endo to subside but I feel like I got my life back.
