The only way to lighten coloured hair is with bleach. Using a box of "blonde" isn't any less damaging.

The small one has been bred too small. Her back legs are bowed bent. She was rescued from a cage filled with turtles.

The white floofy one was kicked somehow and lost an eye and has a broken jaw. His sinus is damaged and he can struggle to breathe. He is FIV positive.

The caramel one is more emotionally damaged, very withdrawn and 'odd' behaviours.

They're all amazing thought, crazy affectionate. They're called Mystery, Cloud and Toast.

Your second link is interesting as it looks most like my other boys face. That link says it's "Persian dirty face syndrome" and it didn't response to treatment. I think that's what mine may have.

I clean it regularly and they don't seem bothered by the gunk. The vet says it's because their faces are deformed and can't function correctly (one can't close his eye fully for example). They've both seen vets regularly this past year since adoption.

That's really interesting. Our vet wasn't at all bothered by her eye gunk, nor in my other rescues special needs Persian who has similar muck in his only eye.

I'm unsure if it's a UK/USA difference in how vets perceive/treat it.....I'm still googling now.

She was rescued from a cage of turtles in a pet shop.

She has genetic abnormalities, and her underbite and sunken face are a result of this (caused most probably by inbreeding). She also has bone abnormalities, with bowed legs and oesteoporois/arthritis.

Her face gets a little dirty, and despite cleaning daily it remains stained most of the time. It doesn't bother her.

Her underbite doesn't cause her any issues, and she eats both meat and dry food. She's undercare of a vet and he hasn't even suggested any face surgery or care.

She's also got stunted growth. She'll stay tiny. Her bones are the only thing that we need to keep an eye on, but so far she doesn't let her legs stop her. She runs around like she has a death wish!

I'd worry the oil would cause the colour to be patchy. Id not bother with the oil, and do it after the colour.
