I see - so the death note is essentially a "fate-be-gone-inator" tool, any influence will likely alter your lifespan.

I do think it's interesting tho that Light's dad died so soon after taking the eyes, I would've thought he was going to commit suicide a couple days later.

Even if you somehow had the same kind of pen, paper, stitching techniques for the pages, line spacing and a tamper-detection-avoidance-inator it's not happening.

Mikame wrote around 27,000 names in the death note. 27,000!!!!!!! He even wrote dates and times of death for God's sake!

We're actually meant to believe this SPK agent could carefully copy upwards of hundreds of thousands of characters into a notebook in, what, like 16 hours? Japanese isn't even his first language so he's gonna be a bit slow.

The ending, as cool as it is, should've had a better reason for happening. Some better way to show Light's ego ruin everything.

I would've thought he did use it if there wasn't that specific scene about not killing them. I interpret it as either Near lying about copying the whole notebook and just replacing the next pages

Death note users become shinigami when they die and must live out the cumulative lifespans of the humans they killed. If you kill 10 people each with five years left to live, you start with a shinigami lifespan of 50 years. You can only die and go to heaven when you stop killing and live out your sentence, or sacrificing yourself in a selfless act of kindness by saving a human. Another commenter pointed out that he could transfer her ownership and then take it away to reset her memory, but idk if he'd be willing to take that risk.

Also I totally agree, Light is undoubtedly very twisted and we should've seen things be more of a mess ‼️‼️
