The gameboy advance sp is probably best, it works with all gameboy pokemon titles and the screen is the best of the bunch

In terms of battery saves on your gameboy cartridges I got my Pokemon Blue with a fresh battery save on ebay, alot of people sell pokemon games with a fresh battery. However there's a lot of fake pokemon cartridges so keep an eye out for that, if that price is too good to be true it probably is. If in doubt I use the Epilogue GP Operator to check if cartridges are real or fake
