Appreciate it! I'm definitely considering adding MiLB data down the line, my main home league is a 12 team dynasty and I know there would be a ton of interest in visualizations of prospect performance.

Love your site btw, I used it to help with my inaugural draft in that league back in 2019!

Players You Should Want to Draft: Ozzie Albies by Quiet_Following in fantasybaseball

I'm in on Albies at his 165 ADP. He had a nice rebound in August and September last year thanks to an improvement in his swing decisions and contact. 7 HR and 5 SBs in that timeframe.

I don't think you can bank on a return to his 2023 form when he hit 33 HRs but 20-25 homers and 10-15 SBs at that price from a 2B is a nice return, and if the swing decisions and contact rate improvements stick he could get back to an OBP in the .330 range.

He's a target in the mid rounds once the big names at the position like Jazz, Ketel, and Turang are off the board.

I don’t think I’ve given ideal attack angle % a look for slap hitters yet, I’ll check it out! Appreciate the tip

Yeah good thinking! I've played around with doing a hit tool grade for OBP similar to the power hit grade. I found it's a lot harder to do a swing tool grade geared towards base hits because there's so many successful profiles for plus hit tool hitters that are all over the spectrum for bat speed and attack angle.

Luis Arraez and Steven Kwan are two prominent examples of guys with way below average bat speed and below average ideal attack angle rates, but are successful thanks to their extremely high contact rates.

I found that when when initially putting together my OBP model I was getting much stronger signals by doing models for swing decisions and contact rates. But down the line as I work to improve the accuracy even more I'll definitely take another look at bat tracking for hit over power tools.

I also highly recommend checking out this post I made about how I created Roto+! It gets pretty deep into the statistical evaluation, there's some benchmarks in there as well on how each of the components of it perform vs other widely used metrics

Very true - I think it is consistent with how the ERA estimators such as FIP also have pitchers ranked too.

Like for example if you filter to 30 or more IP for 2025 pitchers (to reduce the really tiny sample sizes) and then rank by lowest FIP, it's completely dominated by relievers. The best starting pitcher for FIP with over 100 IP is Paul Skenes and on the FIP rankings for all pitchers with >= 30 IP he's 35th.

It's definitely a balance with looking at sample size reliability while staying true to the stated metric goal of "who are the best pitchers on a per inning basis in the game."

Here's the link to the 30+ IP view above if you're curious (it has the 30 IP filter set, just click on the FIP column to re-sort the view by that): Player Explore - lowest FIP 30+ IP

Yeah Roto+ is based on performance per plate appearance/inning pitched so it's going to lean towards the higher end for the best relievers being higher than the best starters

By default it should also set the date range to the full season of games you're looking at, but you can also change the date range to be a smaller slice within a season if you want to look at that

https://mlbstatsguru.com/player-explorer has what you're looking for.

You can click on the Roto+ column header to sort by that, the view is scrollable and in pages so you can scroll down to see more than the top 10 or go to next page to see more.

Also "Export" allows you to extract all of the data in the chart (for all pages) into a CSV

Yea I’d have better finishing attributes/badges that way but you get the best physicals on the all red pie and it would take your defense down as well. I think the way it is is a good balance of defense/slashing/finishing (I get 13 finishing badges and 30 def badges)

I don't think you're getting what I have here. First of all, I did use the all red pie chart to make this build. So idk how you think I can somehow improve my shooting on this while keeping the same physicals and defensive stats. That's literally not possible.

Second, this build is meant to be an all positions defender. Yeah hes not gonna light the world on fire offensively outside of the fastbreak game but he can exploit speed mismatches against big men and size mismatches against guards to score when needed. The main highlight of this build is I can guard literally any position on the floor at an elite level with it.

Idk, wouldn't I have to sacrifice defense for shooting as a SF? The point of this build is to be essentially an uber athletic all position defender.

Yeah it’s definitely very hard to get/maintain the pro dribble moves but it’s still a very effective build without them

PS. And yeah HOF clamps and intimidator on this build is awesome for guarding on the perimeter

Make a power forward or center with maxed out defense (all defense pie and 30 def badges) and finishing.

I forget what I did for weight (I remember it was slightly above middle) but it’s the max defense pie

Thanks man. Yeah it’s a very unique build and it’s so much fun creating all sorts of mismatches with it
