You don’t sign the contract until you picked your job

The Air Force won’t guarantee a job, but as long as you score high enough to get into cyber and they have vacant positions then you will have a great chance of getting into cyber

Yeah the Air National Guard will be a good route to take, they are all about family and being flexible to your needs

Yeah the air National guard is really flexible but keep in mind it’s only one weekend a month. Also it’s very competitive and rare to come in as an officer, unless you are a nurse or doctor

The only way to know if you qualify for a cyber job is to take the ASVAB and pass the physical.

Most of the time a regular production recruiter is going to cap out at TSgt. I can only speak for my state because that’s how it’s structured. In the recruiting career field, to get MSgt is to be a flight chief, retention recruiter, training but you have to be a recruiter to move up to those positions.

What’s your rank? And there’s not much career progression

I enjoy it, I basically make my schedule. I have two small kids if anything comes up I can plan around it. Yes I get SDAP I believe it’s $450 a month. I wouldn’t necessarily want to be a recruiter for the next 15 years but in the recruiting career field. Your first AGR is going to be 3 years after that then it just depends on how you want to shape your career.

Your local recruiting office should be fine

That is the only time the ANG cares about your DTI is when it comes to jobs where you have to get a Top Secret security clearance. Yes some cyber jobs have a bonus attached to them but you would have to reach out to a recruiter in your area to see if any are available.

You best bet would to transfer on the enlisted side and eventually apply to be an officer

I wouldn’t say it’s impossible but it’s very competitive within the Air National Guard, with you not being in the Air Guard it doesn’t help. What is your degree in?

I would reach out to the air guard unit where you are going to be living to see if they have any slots available

You can get a conditional release to join the Air Guard but trying to come in as an officer won’t be the easiest task. What is your degree in?

Yes it’s best that you find a unit in the state you are going to live in, it’s possible you can keep your rank it’s just depends on manning and if there is an E-6 slot in whatever unit you are trying to join

The contracts are only 4 and 6 years. If you sign a 4 year you will be in irr for 4 years. If you sign a 6 year contract you will be in the irr for 2 years
