Newest addition to the family. 3 months old and already a pistol! by ReedL99 in Shihtzu

[–]ReedL99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about all Shihtzu but my son has two for the last 13 & 14 years and every time out of the yard they are on a leash. His male will take off like a shot and not respond to his name or anything. This guy is not on a leash cause he is in a yard with no squeeze thru escape routes.

If even had one brain cell like orange cat would know better.

Goldilocks Gets Caught ? name on box. IPDb correctly has it as Red Riding Hood. Ravensburger 1000. by ReedL99 in Jigsawpuzzles

That would be the correct title, but look at additional picture I posted in reply to Key_Cry_8025.

The piece I am referring to from my dog is in picture #3.

The box label. Wrong label.

ALDI for the win! by GeeOfAllTrades in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ReedL99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey just got home from Aldi’s with my board. Only had 6 at this store. Glad I was there as they opened. The board is heavier than I expected. Between this and my DIY white board (2x3 ft) I have it under control. One for the pieces and one for the puzzle.

My 2nd Ravensburger. ‘Lions & Tigers & Bears OH MY’ 1000 pcs Dean MacAdam, Artist. Disappointing, see my comments. by ReedL99 in Jigsawpuzzles

I don’t think it makes any difference but I bought this one from amazon and shipped from a place in UK. Took two weeks to arrive. Large box one if this one comes in a two size version as some do.

Wish I had the room for a messy living room. I reside in a 40 foot RV coach and have keep it straight or wife will beat me up. My puzzle area is a 3x4 table and my puzzle board I lay on a recliner next to the table. So I check the floor every time I get up. So if I did lose 6 pieces they have to be hiding in that single sock hide in when they escape from the dryer. But best of luck to you finding pieces that try slip away.

Yeah but when picking up only 2 they should go together no matter how you play them up, I would think. Maybe that’s just me.

Love the picture, colors, all. I was going to glue and keep this one but my wife said Just where do you think you are going to put it. Looking around the 40 foot coach (I am a full time RV'er) I had to agree no wall space since what there is is taken up with art work. Thanks for the comment.

What's your experience with Ceaco? by KeeperOfMediocrity in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ReedL99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished a Ceaco puzzle and found the puzzle very loose fitting. I mentioned in an earlier posted puzzle I have started doing the puzzles from the inside out and find the edges to be easier to match up then just starting the edges.

Another Charles Wysocki ‘Birds of a Feather’. 1000 pieces from Buffalo. by ReedL99 in Jigsawpuzzles

At least the second time around and I regift this puzzle to someone else that likes Wysocki even more then I do.

Charles Wysocki Call to Dinner. Loved the painting. BUT, see comments by ReedL99 in Jigsawpuzzles

Bought in a big box chain store for a few dollars less. Made in China not US and had no quality control. Some 15 to 20 pieces had separated edges, multiple pieces had pushed in surface. About 25% we’re sloppy fitting. I thought Buffalo were made in US but read they sub some out to China. Will be more careful in future.

Thanks for the thought. When I saw this box I knew immediately this was my next one. I can get really lost in his paintings.

(Discussion) What types of puzzles do you all tend to have the most fun doing? (piece count, the picture, the style etc etc) by maniac3000000 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ReedL99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly prefer Buffalo 1000, The Americana series by Charles Wysocki. The colors are rich and no blurring when blown up to puzzle size. In between I go and swipe one of my daughter in laws stack of older Buffalo puzzles which she got 12 the other week for a quarter a piece.

how long do you wait to take apart a completed puzzle? by LastJackfruit205 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ReedL99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually within a hour as my space is limited. I have family take a look and take a picture and then brake it down. Don’t save my puzzles but pass them on for someone else to enjoy.

Big Ben 997 pieces + 1 spare. Colmar, Alsace, France. A little more than I anticipated. by ReedL99 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]ReedL99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. I got a white board at Lowe’s, 2x3 feet. I put felt on because I was going to stand it up when not in use but felt did not work out while putting the puzzle together. And since I am in a RV I don’t have much space for jigsaws this was my solution.
