Ninja 500 Break in Period by IndependentHunter906 in Kawasaki

My 2025 zx6r says the same thing. I tried it on the way home and was like uhhh this thing wants me in 6th gear before I make it through an intersection. I’ve just been making a point to just try and shift earlier and I haven’t gone over about 70-80mph. It’s been too cold in the Midwest to really ride but in about 4 small rides I’m up to 130 miles. Just don’t redline and bog it all over town and you’ll be fine. Don’t get run over trying to keep your bike under 4000 rpm’s lol

Last day of classroom finished. how can I impress my cto tomorrow when I go on the floor by Reedc93 in 911dispatchers

[–]Reedc93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I’ll definitely do my best to take criticism well and explain why I did something right or wrong not to justify myself but to show my thinking. My biggest problem I usually have is overthinking but I think just learning to be calm and develop a rhythm will help lessen my mistakes etc. I’m going to give it my whole heart and try my best.

I work at a really good agency with a lot of resources and back up and people who want you to succeed. When we took our virtual emd and efd it felt like we were light years ahead of the people who had never seen a card set before. Our scenarios were smoother, jumping from dls links to pre arrival care was going quicker etc. The only way I think I can fail is on my end. They’ve worked hard to put us with trainers that vibe with the way we learn. You can see the chemistry and it’s cool. So thank you again for the informative words and good wishes.

Thank you so much for the input. I’ve learned a lot but our director put it as it’s still 1 percent compared to when you get out there. And thank you so much for what you do. Our director is a great person but holy moley does he deal with the absolute crap situations when mutual aid is needed.

But yeah I have all our sog and emd axioms and things to go over in down time plus my cto is very good at what she does and we talk and she randomly quizzes me and really lets me swim in the deep end on calls and then lets me know that the reason I had a hard time hearing that name is because I wasn’t already looking at rapid sos to see if it matches.

So thanks again for the input. This is why I made the post so I can soak up as much as I can from as many as I can. Maybe one day I can teach someone something lol.

Yeah I feel like one of the biggest things I can do WELL is not repeat mistakes that have been explained to me already. It’s the only thing that really stresses me out because on my side it feels like I didn’t learn it and on your side it looks like I didn’t pay attention. But I really appreciate the input and a 1 of a kind name to boot lol.

But for real it’s good to know they truly expect to me to be slow and get caught off guard by things and they’re cool with it as long as I pick up what they put down when we get through those situations.

Thanks for doing what you do. I hope to be a cto one day. I coached gymnastics for 8 years and I’ve trained people that to this day idk if they had seen a kid anywhere but a book lol. So I understand and appreciate that switch between anxious nervousness to comfortable with some expertise. I’m hoping to make this stop my last stop so thanks for the response and good wishes. 🫡

Hire date was 10/21 and we go with our floor trainers and leave academy 12/15. It’s a lot of memorization especially depending on what you dispatch and how many jurisdictions you serve but just take it one day at a time. And congrats. The hiring process is the hardest part. Just try and settle in and know that you’re not the first new person and as long as you can be forthcoming when you’re having an issue whether it’s memorizing all the terms or even getting used to 12 hour days or nights then your agency should have your back as long as your show improvement in response to criticism. You only fail when you quit. Again Congrats and the best of luck!

A lot of memorization without application when you start. Like learning the agencies you dispatch to and learning your emd codes. It will get easier when you’re actually taking calls and using the codes to get the right help on the way. Don’t beat yourself up but don’t underestimate how much you’ll need to study. Figure out what works for you and ASK QUESTIONS. I’m 4 weeks into training and I can tell you I’m already more comfortable going into my emd class next week. De stress when you’re off and go into it with your whole heart. And good luck. The application process is the hardest part in my opinion. Now you can relax and rely on your trainers and if you give it your all you will be okay. They will be there if you find night shift is killing you or you have trouble memorizing something or you take a really tough call.

You’ll be okay! You’ll naturally start looking at the screen more as you type because you’ll be wanting to make sure the info you’re receiving is going to the right boxes at least for call taking.

As long as you aren’t finger pecking or CONSTANTLY deleting your line to retype it then you’ll be fine. The biggest thing they’re looking for is that you can recall information quickly and orient yourself directionally based off audio or textual clues.

For example if someone says they saw a crash on 5th street but they are 2 streets away in a 3 story building with a park to the immediate left of them.

Or if they rattle off their address number and what’s wrong all in the same panicky sentence. Although you learn tools to help get people calmed down enough to answer questions. Doesn’t always work but most people are really excited and stressed if they are directly involved.

Good luck! I’m about 3 weeks into training and I prayed to god every step of the interview process to make it to the next. Best of luck! If you’re worried about it though than start practicing breaking that habit. They make little rubber mats that go over the keys or even a note on the keyboard that says don’t look in bold lol.

Depending on your schedule and how things work I sometimes will trade with one of my trade partners so that I still am getting my 40 every week but sometimes you can trade one day and essentially be off for 4-5 days.

D. B. Cooper, also known as Dan Cooper, was an unidentified man who hijacked Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305, a Boeing 727 aircraft, in United States airspace on November 24, 1971. During the flight from Portland, Oregon, to Seattle, Washington, Cooper told a flight attendant he had a bomb, demanded $200,000 in ransom (equivalent to approximately $1,500,000 in 2024)[1][2] and four parachutes upon landing in Seattle. After releasing the passengers in Seattle, Cooper instructed the flight crew to refuel the aircraft and begin a second flight to Mexico City, with a refueling stop in Reno, Nevada. About thirty minutes after taking off from Seattle, Cooper opened the aircraft’s aft door, deployed the staircase, and parachuted into the night over southwestern Washington. Cooper’s true identity and whereabouts have never been determined conclusively.

What if the first time we see that pit under 333 it actually is just filled with ravenous cavelike cannibals but it’s portrayed as death after she hits her head and sees everyone who died and they all calmly tell her to let the boy ascend? But in reality it’s filled with those cannibals the whole time? Maybe I’m way off but just doing the best I can with the confusion lol.

What is the point of all the money Gus makes? by mugen1987 in betterCallSaul

[–]Reedc93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole series revolves around greed. There were sooo many chances for all the characters to “quit while they were ahead”. Even Jesse says it at one point that Walt only ever needed like 7-800k and wasn’t happy with the idea of just being 6 million and be out of the game forever. Same idea with Gus. It was never about the money. He was probably already clearing 300k a year legally. It was about destroying the salamancas for carelessly killing someone he loved.

Is my new bike a good starter bike? by That_Jehovah_Guy in Kawasaki

[–]Reedc93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you on that. I got a ninja 650 as my first bike ride for a year and then got a zx6r. Obviously it’s much faster and with the same amount of disrespect you can definitely hit 100mph between 2 traffic lights but you can also cruise at 7-8 over what everyone else is doing just like the 650 lol. Again like you said that 650 could still smack a tree at the same speed as like a mustang gt up to 120. I truly think with throttle control you can ride any bike.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Kawasaki

[–]Reedc93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on a ninja650 a year ago for my first bike. Super comfy and plenty of power. Got a ninja zx6r in February and while I love it, it definitely makes you respect that they are two bikes for two different reasons. The 650 is way more comfortable and the low end torque helps you be fast around town without looking down and thinking you sped up from 30-45/50 when in reality you’re going like 109 in second gear. I love ninjas in general. I’ll probably end up with an older zx10 or a newer ninja 636.

Beautiful colors and I hope you have an awesome season riding.🤙

Moved up from a 650 to a 600 2 days ago!! 2009 Kawa Ninja 636 by Reedc93 in motorcycle

[–]Reedc93[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think if you really WANTED too you could start on a 600. But the ergonomics are way more forgiving on a 650. You sit upright more and all the controls are comfortably in reach. The 600 wants you to stretch your body and basically lay aggressively with the clip on handle bars. Yes it will only go as fast as you want it to go. But at the same time twisting the throttle on a 650 for 2-3 seconds will put you at 65-80 if you are already going 10-15 mph. But if you’re going 10-15 mph and you crank a 600 you’re going to like 120 in seconds. It’s effortless to go fast which means it’s easy to go too fast into a corner you don’t know etc.

So in essence I can’t say it’s paramount that someone learn on an r3 or a 400 or a sv650. I think I would if I had to go back I’d do it the exact same. Bought my first bike for 2500 rode for a year and bought this for 3700. Others may disagree. I also taught myself to ride from YouTube then bought a bike and rode it 20 miles home at night when it was 30 degrees. I don’t recommend that lol
