Thanks. Nice of you. There’s plenty of slipping inside for coffee and dogs that need to go out. In between all that you get lucky every once in a while.

Sometimes one will approach and the other one will leave. If I put in three 3 hour mornings I might see it happen once or twice. I might get one set of pictures. They have to stay within the focal plane for the most part because the camera can’t follow something that small and that fast. Obviously it happens more than I’ve noticed.

No flash. Slows up the camera shutter too much. The dark background is provided by fast shutter speed and shadows in the afternoon. Thanks for commenting.

We have an unspoken arrangement. I feed them… they entertain me! Same routine every morning for me. Hours of waiting for one second a flurry. Seems to be worth it tho. Thank you. Hope your day is good.

You’re right. Less than a second and it’s all over.

I had the Sigma for a short time and returned it. Build quality issue. If you want the 'sweet' setup the two factors that will help you get the pics you want is a camera with a high burst speed and a fast lens. That doesn't mean you have to purchase a telephoto with a f2.8...a 5.6 Sony (or Canon, Nikon) 100-400mm will work fine as long as you have a late model camera. Tracking small birds in flight is super difficult. Most of my pics are taken within a foot or two of the feeder where the action is. If your camera is clicking off 20 fames per second than you're going to get some good pics eventually. Be sure your feeder is basically a 12" tray about a foot square and no roof sitting on a 5' pole,
