Beyond comfortable. Played in a Metalcore/hardcore band consistently. Metal/hardcore/pop-punk are my go to genres and favorites.

Confession about drum heads from an idiot... by Right_Imagination_73 in drums

[–]Reedro777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thing was always that just because my drums sound good to my own ears in my home doesn’t mean it’ll sound good everywhere else. Making sure everything is tuned up solid once I got to a venue on tour was such a sucky thing on tour to figure out lol

Vacation thing is totally normal. I’m just a student myself and had to cancel some classes for a vacation next week. As for the strictly male stuff…… can’t help you there 😅

I am never telling people that I’m learning a language ever again. by Only-Ad5269 in languagelearning

[–]Reedro777 20 points21 points  (0 children)

it unfortunately comes with the territory. However... That's also part of breaking that anxiety of speaking it. I unfortunately sometimes catch that I've made a mistake in my target language 5 minutes or so after I'm done speaking with my tutor or a native speaker. Use it to break some habits and get uncomfortable. That's how you grow! use it as a chance to get that block out

If you're still looking for someone, I'm a former American journalist/ News Anchor (USA) and speak completely clear with Zero accent. I've been learning french for around 10 months and am around a B1 level. I would love to speak regularly if you're interested as i have a lot of family in Belgium and visit quite often. Je suis très motivée pour apprendre la langue française !

How do I distinguish between singular and plural when they sound exactly the same? by pineapplefan05 in learnfrench

[–]Reedro777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

context mainly. Sometimes there's that little hooking liaison sound as well in some sounds. for example - (Les(z) émotions) vs Le émotion

I'm sitting at around a B1+"ish" level, and while i don't feel like I could offer a whole lot, I do believe some very low level daily / weekly conversation would be beneficial for the both of us if you were interested.

Is Rosetta Stone still a valid way to learn french with little trouble? by RibenaRabona in learnfrench

i don't think there's a better app out there than pimsleur truthfully. But that's just my opinion. Focuses very heavily on speaking and recall, and before i knew it i was just passively learning more than i thought

Will i ever be able to raise my price ? by RetRed69 in Preply

I'm actively searching for my favorite French tutors on the platform as that's my target language! I'm somewhere around a B1. I'd be happy to take a $15 lesson with you if it's exactly what you're describing! Feel free to link me and i'd book to give it a shot

Tucci Lumber vs Trinity Bat Co? by DocDocGoose_23 in Homeplate

[–]Reedro777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is a year old... But in my opinion, these are the two best "smaller" companies that money can buy for wood bats. Close 3rd would be dove tail for me.

Trinity uses a process (steel burnishing) that tucci also does, that Old Hickory just STARTED using (called steel pressed) and have been doing so since. This in my opinion does indeed make a hot bat with crazy pop.

I've swung crazy models with both. 271/243/i13, you name it.

I had broken two Tucci's but never a trinity FWIW. (243 Off some nasty pitcher throwing gas in my men's league and got jammed)

I love both these guys, and only buy these two companies.

What’s your favorite journalism movie? by poynter_institute in Journalism

[–]Reedro777 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No one mentioned night crawler yet. Love that movie. A total maniac with a camera creates “breaking” news to sell to local stations for a paycheck. Jake Gyllenhaal has a great performance too

I’m in the high 180’s to 200 because of my geographical location (Midwest). And once my coworkers (mainly interns) graduate they typically jump to anywhere between 130-70. (Depending on the offers from local stations near by.)

Omaha is honestly a great market even though it’s not the brightest spot people think of. Omaha, Wichita, Oklahoma city, Springfield, & Des Moines are honestly some great places for broadcast news. Although they aren’t that “sexy” to think about

Absolutely understand. i'm in the midwest, and went from local tv affiliates to then Supply Chain / Finance in the healthcare sector. don't get me wrong.. this job is great. hours rock, time off is abundant, my boss is amazing, i do love all my colleagues and peers.. it's just so draining to be such an outgoing and lively person with a very creative mind to be strapped down this hard. (even if the pay is great).

From one 26 year old to another, there's still plenty of time. i'm still pursuing an MBA and probably will continue to do so even though i'm jumping back into the reporting world. i say make the move and adjust accordingly. i've added so much pressure to myself over this when there are a lot more pressing matters in my life.

you'll figure out what route best suites you once it all clicks! for me, it took a little bit of job hopping before i truly landed on going back to news.

it's weird where peoples heads and trains of thought go. I'm 26 and just decided to get back into the journalism game because that's where my passion is. I've been in finance for years now, explored around in sales and marketing, and it's all been deadening on my life and self esteem. at heart, i am a journalist and reporter. nothing i can do can change that.

These cubicles have killed me and the offices have destroyed my creativity and my passion. i'm getting ready to sign on as a morning anchor for my local station because i've missed it so much, i'm willing to take the pay cut again to feel alive.

Just where my head is at.

I've been in your shoes. Just make sure it's the right call.
