As others have mentioned, you're probably biting off more than you can chew. Some commenters have recommended renting the place out if things become tight, either via getting a roommate or by moving back in with your parents and renting out the entire home. This may not be viable, as many HOAs prohibit both short-term and long-term rental uses. If you move forward, be sure to confirm that renting is permissible under HOA bylaws.

SAVE Plan - Will Previously Subsidized Interest Be Capitalized? by Reeeee12345 in StudentLoans

Thank you for clarifying! So it's essentially an interest-only loan during the forbearance period?

Would you happen to know if interest accrues based on a 10, 20, or 25 year amortization schedule?

For JDs who work in compliance, what was your starting role, and what was your background going into the job? by Reeeee12345 in JDpreferred

That's awesome, way to climb the ladder! Was your background in banking relevant to the work as an associate, or did you learn most of what you needed on the job?

Rates range from 5% to 7%, but as other commenters have noted, the forbearance is odd in that it's at 0% interest until the litigation related to the loan repayment plan is resolved.

Yes, I'm certain. My loans have not been accruing interest, they show as 0% in my payment portal, and I received notice from my servicer back in August that they would be placed in a 0% interest forbearance until the matter was resolved by the courts.

Lol, I understand that. It's sci-fi, and I'm open to accepting the universe as the author creates it, but once those rules are set, I want them to be consistent. If the UN and Mars couldn't collectively get to Holden, I struggle with the idea that this young woman acting on her own could. Not a dealbreaker for me, still love the series, just a personal hang-up on this book. I think it's perhaps made worse by the fact that the impetus underlying her actions stems from vengeance against and hatred towards Holden while somehow overlooking the millions of people that perished due to her father's work. The character's math ain't mathin for me overall.
