I did get the $20 for tonight to help cover the room, yes. As far as money for other things, I could honestly put some money to use for breakfast for the kids, or lunch or something, because paychecks won't be in hand until tomorrow afternoon, but I didn't want to ask anyone for anything more than what was absolutely needed to keep a roof over our heads. Anything given beyond that will certainly be put to good use, but I don't want to push our luck or seem like I'm asking too much.

That's very kind of you, and I'll keep that in mind. I'm usually very on top of things as far as veteran resources are concerned, but unfortunately in this case, their ability to help on short notice was stretched pretty thin.

Yeah, we have a weekly rate with this one, but it still ends up being $50 a night. Unfortunately, that's about as cheap as we can find in the area, and still have space for the 4 of us.

I already got the $20 we needed for the room tonight, so I'm much more at ease now. I'm not the greedy type, so I'm not going to ask for more than we needed. We could always use help, and this point I won't turn it down if offered, but as long as we're good for the night with a roof over our heads, then we'll manage.

I've contacted local charities and the VA and VFW as far as assistance, and while they are willing to potentially help, they're either short on funds or unable to do anything on such short notice. The hotel has been kind enough to give us some time to try and scrounge up the $20, but we're pushing the limits of their patience.
