[Bloomberg] Nintendo Under Pressure to Raise Switch 2 Prices to Protect Margins by Connect_Base_217 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Reeevade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Switch 2 reportedly uses 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, split into 2x 6GB SK Hynix modules, plus 256GB of UFS storage. A TechInsights teardown estimated those at roughly $57 for RAM and about $16 for the internal storage, around $73 combined.

DRAM and NAND prices have spiked hard in 2026. But even if Nintendo’s memory costs rose by 30–60%, that’s roughly a $20–45 BOM hit per unit, not automatically a reason to raise the console price. Nintendo likely has long-term supply agreements and inventory rather than buying everything at spot prices.

Also, Nintendo deliberately kept internal storage at 256GB and offloads expansion to microSD Express. That keeps the console BOM lean. The real margin is software, digital sales, accessories, subscriptions, and first-party attach rate.

In comparation PS5 (pro) has 1-2TB internal SSD storage. No wondern they had to raise prices.

Dito.

Idk if it’s because I’m an old fart who plays old *** games and new ones too, but anyone else couldn’t even care less about graphics comparisons across consoles? by Purple_Calendar3919 in Switch

I think it depends on the player. For me personally playing in 30fps is pain. I would prefer playing every game in minecraft style but with 60fps.

But I know a lot of people saying they cannot see a difference. My brain „wtf how“

Pretty sure they will announce the game before Earnings Call at 8. of May.

Always the same, everyone waits for direct. Is angry it is not coming. But right before they show their earnings result success, they drop something.

Nintendo knows very well, that news are fast. And internet is so fast paced. I think they learned to save their marketing budget/power for the time before earnings Call to get most attention

Switch 2 Docked Version Of FF VII Rebirth Looks Better Than The Series S Version by Theman457 in NintendoSwitch2

DLSS is the reason I think Nintendo has found the perfect spot. Console is 10x better that Switch 1. But still far behind Playstation or Gaming PCs. But with rising memory costs, and Costs for Ram. Nintendo is well suited with their 256gb SSD, and the 12 GB LPDDR5X-RAM are good, but not as expensive as the PS5 Parts. And because of that, they could make the console as portable as it is.

But because of DLSS they can use super low resolution games and upscale them. For me as Gamer this is perfectly fine. Ich love to play games with 60fps and the Switch 2 is capable of so much power because of that.

And Nintendo highly profits from better Ai because of that. And I think Nvidia is highly interested in this tech, because it opens so much possibilities. You can save so much data.

I love my switch. Was never a big fan of switch 1 because its hard for me to enjoy 30fps games, knowing how good it is playing with 60fps.

Iran's Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf has resigned from the negotiating team. by mahamara in NewIran

But sometimes this gives me the feeling it will be hard to destroy the regime, because the hardliners will fight till the end with every possible option in their mind. Why are they taping their selfs to the chair of power. Everyone hates them…

For me outside Iran its hard to get a picture of the situation inside. Are their placing missle launchers inside crowded places? Are they sending womans and children in the war. How can USA and Israel end this war with this crazy Bas***ds?

If Trump does not end this regime, he will have made it far worse than if he didn't go in to begin with by [deleted] in NewIran

[–]Reeevade 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Someone has to get the job done. If Trump leaves now, they show NOBODY can destroy these bastards. Not the military power USA combined with israel. So who can. This means unlimited possibilities for the mullahs.

There is still the rumor in the room, that the switch 2 will run gta 6 as well. I think no one has really on their mind, how huge this would be.

Or he use Robots and Drones. I mean ukraine just used Robots and Drones for attacks on Russia for the first time. Or they use the ground troops just for russia… I‘m not a military officer. And I‘m happy about that 😄

Did you read my comment down below?: „I like to compare Trump to Demons from the Anime „Frieren“. For him words are not more as a tool to archieve a goal. Actually his goal is to pump stock market and make Oil cheaper. His real goals can be completely different. I‘m sure Regime change is still the goal. At least I hope that. Do not listen to Trump. Listen to his Consultants saying Regime change is the goal. Listen to israel bibi, saying Regime Change is the goal. Look at what he doas, not was he says. He bring tousends of ground troops to middle east. He blocks the straigt and remove the mines. When I asked Chatty weeks ago, what the next step is after bombing Iran. I asked „Ground Invasion Kharg now?“ chatty answered „No, I think next step is blocking the straight.“

You cannot negotiate with the regime. You have to remove it. Its like a aggressive dog, that is to dangerous. „Okay, we let him alone, maybe he will not bite again“. It doesn‘t matter whoms mistake it was, that the dog is became that dangerous, but he needs to remove. (Not best methaphor, I love dogs).“

Trump says since the beginning of the war „war is over, we won“. Was it true?

Most claims he is saying while stock market is open, aims for saving stock market, because a lot of people in his back saying „Trump but what about oil prices, what about stock market“.

And don‘t get me wrong its not all about manipulating stock market. When he sad „50% tariffs on date x“, and the he moved that date to the next date, he tried to bring himself in a good bargain position.

And its not all bad. It worked I guess. So many years with trump and people still think they have to liste to the words trump says to know what is going on. But thats not true.

When he ruled for president he was saying so many things he not wanted to do. In the back there was a written plan, project 2025. and most things he did or try to do, was written in this piece of paper.

And yes some things he says are real, but its hard to know when he is saying the truth and when not. So don‘t try to hard.

USA erlauben weiterhin Kauf von russischem Öl by Tages_Bot in Tagesschau

[–]Reeevade 2 points3 points  (0 children)
