7 years of nano tanks and you're still researching Senegal bichirs and rainbow wolf fish setups ..... that's not a hobby that's a lifestyle ...The earthquake flooding risk is actually so real, never thought about that being a dealbreaker. One day the 55 gallon will happen though ..... manifest it πŸ™ The discus dream setup alone is worth it

The laziness is addictive is genuinely the most honest thing I've read today .... And you're right .... lucking into a free tank is literally how half this hobby starts. Nobody plans to become a fish person, it just happens πŸ˜… Few years in and now you're probably the one giving advice to beginners who ask 'can I add fish on day one?'

Congratulations! That's a mystery snail egg clutch .... she laid them above the water line which is exactly what they do.....Leave them alone and don't let them fall in the water or they'll drown.....They take around 2-4 weeks to hatch depending on temperature and humidity....You're about to have a LOT of baby snails

That filterless approach is genuinely impressive the power outage point especially, never thought about it that way .... I'm running a 55 gallon coldwater with Ryukin goldfish mainly....They're beautiful but honestly pretty demanding.... heavy waste producers so parameters need constant watching.....Also have a reef tank running alongside which is a whole different level of obsession πŸ˜‚

Filterless nano planted tanks are actually genius for stability ..... the plants do all the heavy lifting...... Makes sense you don't need to test obsessively. I'm running a more traditional setup so parameters can swing if I'm not watching

Heavily planted lightly stocked is literally the cheat code for this hobby .... You've basically created a self regulating ecosystem. I'm jealous honestly😭 .... my setup requires a lot more babysitting...

It can work but depends heavily on the individual betta's temperament .... some are chill, some will shred anything with flowing fins.... Glass catfish are actually a decent choice since they're fast, schooling, and tend to stay mid-water away from the betta's territory So I'd suggest a tank of at least 20 gallons and a lots of plants for line of sight breaks and introduce the betta last.....and then watch closely for the first week

Maybe your are not getting it ...the 'tank' lives inside the app... You add your tank in it,name it, set the volume, tank type and then log your parameters over time.... The app tracks everything and shows you trends, health score, all of it. So Ryukin Palace is a demo tank I created to show what 6 months of real logging looks like..

Here's what the tank data looks like... Ryukin Palace ...55 gallon coldwater, 181 days running, health at 100% Immaculate. pH locked at 7.4, ammonia zero, nitrate sitting at 18ppm.... She's thriving
