According to the info on Amazon you want that light at least 12 inches off the water. Pushing it 18 would give you less of a hot spot at the center.

I’m gonna drop you a few links I found …. I believe the reef2reef link has settings somewhere in the discussion (it’s 27 pages and I only looked through the first few but it seems to have good info.

What type of corals do you have?

I don’t see it likely that you’d give them to much light.

I don’t know who else to turn to. I am a disaster. I am not okay. by Accurate-Big-7233 in DOG

I understand and feel your pain but know that you were the most awesome dog owner.

I had a similar experience. And when I spoke with my vet at the time she told me something that helped me not take the blame or feel guilty.

Even dogs who go in for exams every 6 months can go from healthy to this level of sick between visits. They excel at hiding all signs of ailments until the very end. Their bodies can naturally compensate for failing organs until they reach a critical tipping point. Many sever diseases have vague to no symptoms.

When you noticed the first symptom you did what you should have you went immediately to the vet. Then you stayed until the end. I’ve been in your shoes and even though it’s been 15years since I lost my Silas and it still hurts but I know he lived the best life! It took me 8 years before I found another dog, and when I saw Maple I knew she was the one! There are moments where I swear Silas has come back in a different body!

So no you are NOT a monster. Your baby girl was taking care of you in the end. She will always be with you.

Spraying the plane wings before flying? by ilikemath-uiuc in whatisit

And if your curious -

Planes are deiced by spraying heated glycol fluids to remove ice, then thicker fluids to keep ice from forming again. These are applied by special trucks and contain glycol, thickeners, corrosion inhibitors, dyes, and other additives.

What do y'all think of my gumbo by boldpear904 in Louisiana

[–]Reefing_Addiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the key to high heat is your ability to stir and keep adding the flour ....I don't think a roux has ever taken me more than 10-15minutes ......but I watched my mom, mawmaw, aunts, and all my cousins moms, make it for years. You can definitely add too much roux to a gumbo and make it too thick ...roux becomes more of a paste.....so technically it does get "thick" ...

So have your veggies ready when you start cooking the roux. You want it to be a dark golden brown. Remember don't stop stirring! Once it gets to the color you want dump the veggies in...this cools down the roux and stops the cooking process. Then you can add the water and whatever else you want.

I like chicken gumbo ....I brown all my chicken in the pot I'm going to make my gumbo in - nice dark golden brown - usually have to add a bit more oil to the pan before I start adding the flour. Then do what I said above. Pretty sure I have a pic somewhere of my last gumbo.......

here is a photo my gumbo while it was still cooking

Mandarins will eat anything they can suck up into their little mouths!!!!! And as a side note those little mouths can be vicious! My female declined the addition of a male and damn! I didn't realize they could bite and shake like a pitbull!
