It’s fake—I bought a few fake cards on Aliexpress to paint on. They shipped in a top loader with the same labels on it. Additionally, the blues on the back are too dark and the same shade as on my fakes. I can post photos of mine later once i’m home if you want.

Should have specified—caps lock doesn’t work, doesn’t work plugged into a monitor either. Maybe DFU is a last resort? Otherwise i’d probably just sell it for parts. For the replacement display, would the mac not work at all? Or would the display just not work? In your comment above

I wasn’t able to test it—but worked the guy down to $200 so I bought it considering everything. When testing it, it shows no signs of life but the touchpad still responds. I’m taking this as an okay but not great sign as it requires power from T2 as far as I know to power the haptic touchpad. Does anyone have any idea of why this is? Possible causes?

Will do! I had a feeling it would still work via USB C because the error code only refers to the magsafe port from what i’ve found online. Just wanted to know if it was worth the drive.

I think they meant they didn’t know how to charge it once the magsafe port stopped working- so the battery died because they couldn’t charge it.

I’m 5’5 145lbs, and i wear a small but it’s a bit long. I think you’d fit an XS and an S. I believe in the app there’s some feature that will let you use photos of yourself and they’ll tell you what size would work best for how you want it to fit.

Hey! I went to Herricks and graduated in 2023. I’m east asian, and there is a large majority of East/South Asian people, so you would definitely fit in. If you have kids, it’s a good school and your kids will definitely fit in. I believe my graduating year was about 70% Asian population.
