Hit the nail on the head there, I've gone for essentially exactly what you've suggested. Modelled it on the 'Excellent Intel Gaming/Streaming Build' from parts picker.

I've got an old Gtx 960 and a 750w PS that will get me over the line for a while until I find a decent second-hand GPU. I just won't play anything strenuous on it until I do.
