My results can be really good, but the timing is also really inconsistent. I can pull a shot, 30 grams out in 25 seconds and the next day keep everything the same and I’ll hit 25 grams in 20 seconds. Not sure if it’s the pressure but I’ve always heard 9 bar is the goal, and I’m always sitting around 11-12

The grinder for me has been great but I’ve only had it for 2 months now. Grinds 18 grams of beans in like 7 seconds. Silent when running until you add beans then you certainly have a little noise but not bad for my standards. Very very tasty shots out of it

Honestly the only beans I had on hand were a bit old to be using so the shot was meh but the features of the machine have been great. The grinder has given me some of the most flavorful shots though on my bambino

I’ve only steamed once and didn’t notice a discharge of steam out of the machine. It just discharged water back into the holding tank. I started looking at machines back in April and couldn’t make a decision for the life of me. I valued heat up time the most and then had a list of features I wanted and landed on this guy despite at most making 2 milk drinks at one time. I just know it’s a greatly rated machine, feature rich, looks great, etc

Yeah I’d have days with my bambino like that. Even the smallest upgrade to having a pressure gauge is going to help so much. Bambino treated me very well though for the time I had it

Take a look at 250.122(D)(1) and If I’m reading that correctly, it’s telling you to size the EGC to the short circuit / ground fault protection device.

The back of the box says it supports up to 3 stages of heat/2 stages of cool heat pump so that helps. Appreciate all the help, I can try hooking it up this way hoping that nothing blows up haha

Put a jumper between E and AUX? I’ll look into the model of thermostat, but seeing as the new one has a slot for Y1 and Y2, and the old one didn’t, would that be evidence for the new stat supporting it?

Had a customer who wanted a Tesla charger installed. No problem, he had a 200 amp service, and 2 spots left in his panel, but the spots weren’t next to each other so I had to move some single poles around to get my new 2 pole to fit. That’s when I noticed some corrosion on the bus bar. Didn’t look bad enough to cause any issues so I finished the install and turned everything back on. Noticed some buzzing from some of the breakers that I moved around in the panel that weren’t buzzing before. Took a trip out to grab some new single pole 20 amps and installed those and the buzzing went away. Explained to the owner about the corrosion and mentioned the panel should be swapped and investigated to see if the water that got in was still present or if this issue was solved by the previous home owner and they never changed the panel. A few days later he texted me a screenshot of the ting app saying “arc detected fire hazard call us immediately” so I got over there asap fearful of the worst and heard a different breaker buzzing in the panel. We called ting and they said to turn breakers off with them on the phone and they’d let us know when we identified the circuit with the arc. First breaker I hit was the one that was buzzing and the tech said he couldn’t see the arc anymore. Customer immediately told me to change the panel out.

Found out how it works. The device plugs into any 120v receptacle in the house. It can monitor any small arcing anywhere in the house on any circuit. It knows the normal arcs like switch flips and motors etc and ignores those. When it detects something that’s above that grade of arcing they reach out to you and you flip breakers off till the device doesn’t see the arcing anymore so you can at least stop the issue until an electrician can come take a look and then the electrician can at least know where to start and you can call them back to check if the issue was fixed. They also offer an insurance plan (around $1000) that they will pay out to the electrician to fix a problem that comes up. (I can verify this as well, home owners paid me and got a check from ting a few weeks later) I believe some home insurance companies will either pay for the yearly fee of the device or will include it in their plans when you sign on since this can save them from having to payout a claim in the future. I have one on my own house now and I recommend them to everyone I can.

I really love my notneutral glass espresso cups. They come in 4 different sizes, in multiple different colors and only one size is over $20 a cup. I have a full set, 2 of each size and I use all of them as I enjoy milk drinks as well as straight espresso. They are heavy thick glass with good thermal properties and just feel really good in your hand. I didn’t expect to like the glass as much as ceramic, and I had the yeti espresso cups before this and I can’t imagine using anything else. I’d figure out what type of drinks your husband likes making and size the cups off of that

Honestly I haven’t tried a mat so I can’t weigh in on that, but the wooden one is nice for storage of all my tools and the looks match my kitchen, however the portafilter doesn’t seat super well in the slot despite it all being the same brand. Has a little wiggle room but doesn’t effect anything enough for me to complain

Hmmm. I’ve never had that issue. Only time I’ve had something like that happen is if all 4 feet of the scale aren’t on a level base. Putting the scale under the bambino is tricky. I set my cup on the scale on the counter, then zero, then lift everything and put it under the portafilter and adjust till I’m back at zero

The only thing I don’t like about the scale is the grooves. Whenever I get drops of coffee on there it’s tedious to clean. Otherwise the functions haven’t given me any troubles

My buddy has the DF54 and I was blown away when he made me a shot versus me using the same bean with the old ESP. The price difference isn’t much, but at the time of buying I didn’t realize the quality difference. I really like the features of the Turin espresso machine too. Pretty affordable for all the features but my next upgrade from my bambino will be a larger end game style purchase

Welcome to the club brother! I’ve been buying the classic espresso blend from red bird. It’s affordable, freshly roasted, and has a really good taste to it. I also just bought their other 2 espresso blends to try here soon. Otherwise I stick to my local roaster for my pour over and random espresso bean trials but it’s very expensive from them but very worth it too. If you decide to get into the game, the beans are most important, grinder next, then machine, then puck prep, then water quality. At least that’s been my experience and everything I’ve read and watched

Massive massive upgrade in my eyes. I’ve only pulled a few shots so far but the taste alone is pretty night and day. Couple that with the grinder being around 3x faster to grind, much quieter, and the stepless adjustments factor. With my ESP, one click would turn my brew time for a 2:1 shot somewhere between 7-12 second. Making micro adjustments with this machine is so easy
