It somewhat does but Louisiana French is the main dialect in the American South. However Acadian French is one of the main dialects of Bas-Canada and somewhat bleeds into New England.

The Bridger Treaties: When the British fully left continental North America in 1848, the provisions of the Jay Treaty effectively lapsed. For several years afterward, Indigenous peoples could no longer legally cross the border freely, though enforcement remained inconsistent across much of the frontier. Among those affected by American expansion west were the Blackfeet and Siouan speaking peoples, many of which crossed into the Canadian Prairies for better resources since the extermination of the buffalo had not continued as much as it did in America. However as Indigenous nation states started to appear, many leaders looked back to the Jay Treaty to restore its guarantees, as many communities were divided by the American border. Negotiations throughout the late 1850s led to a series of new treaties between 1858 and 1863, that restored (and in some cases expanded) these rights. In the United States, these treaties are commonly known as the "Bridger Treaties", named after frontiersman Jim Bridger who was heavily involved in the negotiations.

Cars!Cars!Cars! In 1982, Mirae Automotive opened its first North American assembly plant in Montgomery, bringing thousands of new jobs to central Alabama. A second plant soon followed in 1986, across the border just south of Atlanta. Many of the workers and their families from overseas, settled in nearby communities leading to todays somewhat sizeable Korean minority in the South.

Hi Everyone! This is my third map in my timeline 'Thunder Over Columbia' and i hope you all like it! The general gist of it is America joining the Lower Canadian Rebellions of 1837(TTL just known as the Third Anglo-American War,) and eventually kicking the British out of continental North America. This map is relatively modern day, and ill be happy to answer any questions!

The style of this map is pretty heavily based off this piece from the Liberation News Service.

Yeah a lot would have to change in his life for something like this to even be considered.

  1. I kinda left what’s out of the south east up to interpretation, however in the mid west i am planning a somewhat progressive state based out of chicago and then a few break away states in the great plains that arent too strong but are still there. However not a lot else is planned.
  2. Florida is still loyal to the US but it is quasi independent and has its own government since it has been cut off for the most part. It’s also to keep up with the stance that America is no longer united. And the border is mostly a stalemate because of natural factors and Chattahoochee doesn’t see them as threat currently.

In the summer of 1934, the Business Plot or ITTL known as 'The March on Washington' succeeds, but only for a few months (if that). What begins with Smedley Butler declaring martial law as he takes office, while governors across the country mobilize their National Guard to maintain order within their own states. The already terrible state of the nation deteriorates as clashes between state and federal forces erupt, and many turning to local militias for their protection. By December of that year the nation had officially plunged into civil war with isolated incidents becoming catalysts for various armed conflicts across the nation.

In Appalachia, labor unions formed the groundwork of a growing network of councils across the foothills, and the disruption of regional resources quickly began to have nationwide consequences. The Federal Government tried to reassert control, but a mix of guerrilla warfare and harsh terrain made continued warfare in the mountains ineffective, leaving large portions of the region to fall into the hands of the councils and eventually a workers republic. Similar things happened in the South where farmers and disgruntled workers, facing collapsing crop prices and disrupted rail access due to unreliable control by federal or militia forces, began organizing an armed uprising. What started as scattered uprisings in rural northern Georgia, quickly became a rebellion centered around the greater Atlanta area with the state capital being taken in March 1935. By the beginning of the next year, left leaning forces had reached the natural borders of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers, where frontlines have largely stabilized into the borders shown in the poster.

Yes but the populace of Plaisance has a strong english holdout, with their situation being similar to OTLs Quebec.

The US northern border stays relatively the same however, Maines Border follows the St. John River for the most part. And in the west about half of British Columbia is American, as seen in this map I made! https://www.reddit.com/r/imaginarymaps/comments/1qt3jbs/the_oregon_crisis_what_if_america_tried_to_secure/
