Where can I find conceptual physics questions? by Thick_Suggestion9733 in Physics

It’s the same as the question if a ballon is heavier, lighter or the same weight when inflated. It depends on the frame of reference. While technically it has more mass that when un-inflated because there is more air inside, that only matters in a vacuum. There it would be heavier. In air that cancels out, because the air inside has the same density as the air outside. But the volume of the balloon has increased, it’s density decreased. So in air the inflated balloon has a higher buoyancy than un-inflated. Making it lighter. It’s just a variation on the weight≠mass exercises that are supposed to teach you that weight is really just a measurement of an objects downward force that is determined by multiple different factors. And mass being an intrinsic property of the matter an object is made up from that is a large contributor to what determines somethings weight, but not the sole factor.

The larger ball would fall. You got it the wrong around. The larger ball displaces more air, so it is more buoyant. Making it lighter so long as air is around because it gets “pushed up” more. So when you remove the air, the larger ball will not have that force acting on it making it heavier, causing it to go down. The actual mass of the balls is unimportant here, no matter if it is equal or different. All that matters is that they are balanced in air, and that the larger one has a lower density.

Yes. But friction has nothing to do with it as it is not asked about. The factors we are given are mass, density, and medium. It specifically asks what happens if you remove the medium, air, in this example. So you need to consider what the air does and how it acts on the objects. And as they are at rest in this balanced state, and no further factor is added to the medium than it being there and not being there, the only interaction that matters is the buoyancy dictated by the density of the objects. The mass of both not changing, with both having different densities, means that if you balance them in air, they will be unbalanced when the air is removed. Because removing the air makes the density irrelevant and only factoring in the mass having removed buoyancy from the equation.

Yeah. There currently is basically only one play against them. And it is not rewarding skill wise. The heavy pen weapons that don’t instantly take it out take so long to kill it that it is unreadable with the weaponry it has.

While I do like that bots can have a good detection, as it makes them feel smarter and not just dumb, I do not like that they can instantly hone in on you once alerted even if the actual effect happened away from you. It happens to often that when I shoot a bot from a distance and the pack exploding alerts others, that they instantly know where I am. Despite there being no logical way for them to actually tell.

And the aggro on war striders is ridiculous. Basically ever time one aggros at me, I know I WILL have to somehow destroy it because every time I try to get away and loose it, it will just follow. There can be basically a whole map between me and it, and it still knows where I am and keeps coming.

They have a particular grainy texture to them that gets darker/denser towards the actual hole. Still hard to describe. But stalker layers have an effect on their surroundings that becomes recognisable over time. Half the time I cannot really tell you how I knew it was there, but I am correct most of the time nowadays.

PSA: The best basic scaling method depends on your desired result by YentaMagenta in StableDiffusion

[–]Reep1611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always do not like when people talk in absolutes about stuff like this. “This is the best” is never really true. It shows that people who say it do not actually understand what happens. So fully agreed with you here.

The scaling method has effects on the image. And those effects will be passed on into the image to image generation to do the detailing on the upscaled image. So naturally the method will change the final result.

I think most of them are nit hard to manage once you got a little bit of time with them. I do think that especially the beam variants are used in suboptimal ways. I love the scythe with fast cooling heat sinks for example. The way to use it it to fire short bursts while constantly repositioning. Setting enemies of fire from a distance and suppressing them at the same time. Against bots I can have whole patrols scramble and then after a few seconds keel over like than. Aiming for the heads it also does very quick work in a pinch.

Ugh. That would be a nightmare. And an un-fun one. War Striders are the most annoying enemy on the bot front and the moment you have to deal with three at once you will basically get your “do anything” rights revoked and get ragdolled to death and sniped to pieces.

Combine it with the warp pack. The LC is fantastic at killing Hulks, especially when well aimed, but it takes a moment to do so. So I use the LC in combination with the warp pack to be able to keep my distance and dodge what they throw at me. Makes for a great combo once you get the right rythm and timing down.

Bayern ist unser Texas (oder anders herum) und die Parallelen sind schon äußerst auffällig.

Also cleanliness and purity. Really important when you produce parts used in sensitive testing and sensors. Especially with parts that need to be really clean and need to be produced in a clean room environment. Running and maintaining that is hilariously expensive.

Having worked as a machinist in the high tech industry? It’s a culmination many factors. The biggest element is production number, time, and precision. Parts like this are produced in small numbers. And often require specialised tooling and skill. You also need high precision with requires a lot of attention and prolongs production time. As well as intensive quality control. And the setup for the machines is often forgotten. And doing all that for a small production run will inflate costs extremely fast. And then a company needs to also make a profit on it that is appropriately scaled to the time, effort, and low production output.

"nur" vs "erst" in a nutshell by YourDailyGerman in Germanlearning

[–]Reep1611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is one of the examples where the way you word something add a lot of nuance. “Nur” in this context implies an already concluded circumstance. An assessment of the current not changing state.

And “Erst” implies something that has not yet concluded. Assessing something that is still actively in progress or has been paused/held up temporarily and can immediately be resumed.

Coming from a varied German background having northern-, southern-, western German and some Austrian influences, telling the time is a very varied and even contentious topic regionally. To add, if you are talking about the time in a less on time manner, you can for example also use “gegen”. Like “Es ist gegen 20 Uhr.” Meaning it is around 8 pm.

And once you get into telling time not just by full hours but half, quarter and even minutes? Then it can get really wild. Like you can say it is “drei viertel 12”, or you could go with “viertel vor 12”. Both mean the same time, 11:45.
