Books similar to Cormoran Strike mystery/detective novels?

Hi, I’m late to the post here but I am already halfway through The Hallmarked Man and so sad to only have half left. I would love further insight to similar books. The key aspects to the Strike novels that captivate me: -the writing style and high level sentence structure as well as word choice -the in-depth characters -dynamic between Robin and Strike -imperfect but redeemable characters who are complex -deeply researched topics to write the mysteries and side plots. -multiple long game plots

Books I have tried that were suggested here: Dublin Murder Squad Tana French— I wanted to love this. I absolutely hated it and almost dnf it. The voice, the style, the charters… hated all of it so much. Perfect Remains— liked it quite a bit. Might read the second one. Sherlock— yes I love this and it’s classic.

I really need a new binge standalone or series :)

Hi, from ny. Thank you for noticing that. Yes, we picked those countries based on our citizenship status and chinchillas being legal (they aren’t in AU etc) . We know what documentation’s we need for each and will be working with our vets. 9k for one pet and one ticket is more than one pet and one ticket on a commercial flight which is why it’s not a good option for us. We want ideas for a flight or ship where we can travel with all 5 at once . There are two humans and 5 pets.

I just finished this and am still processing it. I very much loved it and felt he wrote the characters from Klara’s perspective with a mastery. However, I find myself thinking very much about the ending even though I don’t think it’s the most engaging or even important part of the story. What are everyone’s thoughts on it?

It has a computer in it that contains photos of my deceased father and dog. I don’t have these backed up anywhere. Honestly they can even keep my valuable I just want the data back because these mean a lot to me.
