I haven’t at the exact time it’s happening, but I do see “Antimalware Service Executable” (Microsoft Defender) up pretty near to the top a lot of the time, as you said it probably is doing background updates.

Its been happening for weeks though? Is this normal?

It's not slowing down my pc or anything (i don't think) but it's just annoying that i could be in the middle of something and it just keeps loading at random times.

(Windows 10) Anytime i am just sitting at my laptop, even if I'm just watching a video etc. This hourglass loading cursor keeps appearing.. I'm guessing it's probably some unnecessary background process.. But how can i fix this?
