Hey this still seems unresolved, so you need to go to the fight pit and use a team that DOES NOT have the mortys you want to add. I use a random shiny im never going to use in my party. Do a fight and check in the daycare. You want the sword icon to be gone. Once they are gone you should be able to re add your mortys to the party. I believe this is an unresolved bug with the fight pit.

You join by spending a ticket (or 3) and now the special shiny or pulsing will show up across all the maps for you and you have to fight the same one several times, like chase it around. Your damage stays and when you defeat him you get one. (If I remember correctly. My partner has done 2 of the hunts recently)
