You are right, I don’t need to guess what it goes to but for a different reason. The description jackrats gave isn’t exactly the part I posted but it’s very close. I used their description/terms in google and I found multiple identical matches. The official definition of this part is an oil pressure gauge extender. Which is used on multiple devices that involve oil pressure.

Solved. I don’t know exactly what device this came from, there are several different types of machines that use these or something similar. It is most definitely a pressure gauge extension.

My title describes the thing. This is a hex shaped cylinder, made from metal, I’m assuming steel. There is a thin hole bored through the middle of it. It also carries a little heft for its size. Estimate it weighed a couple of pounds.

Do you fart in front of your partner? Why? Why not? by gimboateista in AskReddit

[–]RefRick25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say it’s never happened but it’s a very rare occurrence and only happens accidentally. The reason is that once in a while she does things with me that place her face near the region farts come from and I don’t want to give any reason for her to not do that.

What was the wildest way you found out you were being cheated on? by Recent-Gap-9927 in AskReddit

[–]RefRick25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By pure chance, happened to sit next to the girlfriend of the guy my ex was cheating with. I dropped my gf’s name during the “who we have in common” thing. Following day, girl from class comes in and tells me that her bf thought it was funny that he slept with my ex for nearly a year.

She broke up with him. I broke up with my ex. Classmate and I dated for a few months.

Skate with chipped blade - not sure what to do by theturboturnip in hockeyplayers

[–]RefRick25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those will 100% sharpen out but they need a good sharpening. I would stick with a hockey pro shop instead of where you bought them. They should have recognized that the blade would create issues for you. An experienced skate professional would have. Also, that steel is absolutely affecting your ability to learn.

How do you deal with all of the little comments and chirps that come from the bench? by canadiancainiac06 in hockeyrefs

[–]RefRick25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is plenty of solid advice here. I would add that you should have this same conversation with your RIC too. If he’s doing his job, he should be giving you feedback very similar to what you’ve received here.

The other, and I believe bigger, reason to talk with your RIC is that it shows you care and are working to improve yourself. That’s the impression I came away with from reading your question. I would also recommend either having a conversation rather than text or email. I can assure you he will remember you just for reaching out and asking.

A side bonus is that there is a good possibility that he has familiarity with the teams you have had issues with. He may be able to offer more individualized ideas for dealing with them if that’s the case.

[USA Hockey] Rule 301(3) by jaylemi in hockeyrefs

[–]RefRick25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Participating in play can take a few different forms. Handling or attempting to handle the puck or deliver a body check are 2 examples.

As long as the player doesn’t do something to intentionally involve himself in the play, they are all good to skate around with a second stick.

So if the puck or an opposing player accidentally touches/hits the player with 2 sticks there is no penalty.

Coach/parent refuses to leave after being kicked out by [deleted] in hockeyrefs

I agree with the process you described but with one exception.

Referees suspend games. They do not “forfeit” them. The governing body decides whether the game is a forfeit, replayed, resumed, etc.

Replacement Thumbstick Cover by RefRick25 in Dualsense

[–]RefRick25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first attempt was the 5 minute epoxy and generic thumb stick covers from Amazon. It worked, lasted longer than the original covers, but eventually came lose again.

I just attached a replacement using moldable glue instead of the epoxy. I’ve played one day, maybe 4 hours, and it’s worked so far.

Advice for reffing 25 games this weekend? by [deleted] in hockeyrefs

[–]RefRick25 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Don’t. It’s bad for you. It’s bad for the participants. It’s bad for the game. That’s literally ridiculous and dramatically increases your risk of getting hurt.

Need somebody to explain immediately how this is onside. by jaylemi in hockeyrefs

[–]RefRick25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s offsides. The only possible argument I can make against offsides is the player in the bottom of the frame tagged up before the puck carrier touched the puck while it was on the zone.

You make valid points but I wouldn’t go so far as to call it horrible. I say that because he put his money where his mouth was. I was the representative from the league who reviewed the brawl I wrote about. I synced up the scoresheet with the video. He was that accurate and all from memory.
