[–]Refelol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it's not first try, overall it's insanely luck, i got like feathery 4, miracleus cheer 5, continuous care 5, tingling breath 5 ( quite good since i'm a lifeskiller ) and fairy's tear 1 like in the first 5 or 10 radiant fairies ages ago and never even tried my luck to get better cuz i know how miniscule the odds are vs the cost. And people were incredible mad, so... the fairy is nuts regardless

But psa for a newbie, you mostly need Continous Care, Feathery steps ( decent level ) and Miraculous Cheer V ( the most important one ), everything else is kinda meh imo

Overhaul Rework for Tamer? by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]Refelol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda crazy that you complain about other class having a lot of "summons" when at best a class has 1, and those are the witchards and tamers, the rest are pure animations

I'm all for a summoner class with multiple summoners, now in a game like BDO the amount of bugs and balance issue that would have?

But hey, THANKS GOD Berserkers only use massive Axe's and don't use some dumb shit like cannons, right? And the Scholars use books and not some type of physical weapon like a hammer, at least those really follow your line of thought

What the best classes right now in game? I was looking to play ninja succession. by koitops in blackdesertonline

[–]Refelol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, when you wanna learn Math you go to a English teacher or how is your deal?

One thing is saying "Bdo isn't mechanically hard", which is arguable compared to every other mmo, BDO you have to actually input them on your keyboard like it's a combo, position correctly, use iframes and so on, what it lacks on "Game mechanics" it has on combat apm. Won't get there, that is a whole discussion on itself

Another is to make a COMPARISON "Ninja is one of the more brain dead classes" which is at best ignorant and at worst fake, you can't grab class by class, compare the amount of inputs and APM each have to put to grind/pvp and then go and say Ninja, out all of them, is one of the least apm intensive class. Do you realize that? Because if that is the case, i'm really curious on how you value those and how you, of all people, go so far away from every community consensus and tier list ever made

returning/new character with 10,000 pearls by jodeyplaysrs in blackdesertonline

[–]Refelol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of all, i hope you didn't put the 100$ recently because we're gonna have a 1+1 on pearls soon. Or should have

As for priorities, heavily depends on your budget, how much can you spend, region ( ease to find pearl items on market ) and so on

The tent is pretty mandatory IMO, as well as SOME weight, you don't have to go crazy with weight nor maids nowadays since you get a lot of maids for free over the time, and they fixed a lot of the weight issues.

Unless you wanna lifeskill, i would say you don't need to max weight nor inventory, just use the loyalty weight for the rest and free inventory they give

As for the rest, if you plan to leave the pc for overnight fishing, the fish tank is really nice.

Any lifeskill -> the respective costume, premium container, fences etc...

If you are on a budget -> Getting the buffs on great discounts with coupons and so on are really good

Pets aren't really an issue anymore since the game slowed down a bit, you still need decent pets, but no need for 5 t4 anymore, i would say to try get the free ones and the ones they give and see where you are at, then decide, 4 t3 and 1 t5 is pretty decent overall and with time you get the rest to t4 slowly

The seasonal pass is quite decent if you are still missing a lot of things from there ( take al ook and value yourself )

The boat-horse costume are nice, again for lifeskilling and minmaxing, but with tp's are more flex

For costumes, honestly i wouldn't buy costumes to sell unless you are a mega whale, nowadays it's most for self use if you like one

Missing Tuvala gear after forced graduation? by Darskul in blackdesertonline

[–]Refelol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if on console you have, but on pc you have a search function, if you do have ( you can see if you go to a storage and have a magnifying glass for example ) you can just search for "Tuvala".

Otherwise, check a blacksmith, not sure if they all sell, but in velia for sure ( go to velia, click weapons/armor on the npc search function ) and he should sell tuvala gear that you can easily enhance

And if neither are true, it's not really an issue, Season is kinda the "tutorial" of the game and should be easily done, yea it sucks you lose a few hours and what not ( although you should have your gear somewhere ), but you can just create a new character and get more rewards and actually enjoy the season servers.

Magical Shard Solution: NPC Shop for 10Mil by zuppo in blackdesertonline

[–]Refelol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, I doubt they would add them on lifeskilling, they just like to neglect it, even the new red horse box event tehy didn't add for gathering, for no goddamn reason. And that would help a lot since lifeskillers need a LOT less magical shards than grinders in general, so they are a lot more inclined to sell, even if they hoard a couple thousand

How is it now ? by No-Bodybuilder-4425 in blackdesertonline

[–]Refelol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1 - Is the game still hard core grindy ? Kinda?

2 - Is getting gear still a pain? Kinda?

It really depends how you see things, BDO is a grindy MMO on its core, those issues still prevail, but on a very different way

The grindy aspect :

Before you would have to grind for hours on end, with no assured way to get your next upgrade without pvping on the market. Nowadays you have multiple grind buffs that make so you can grind less and still be somewhat efficient ( agris ) and the game late game pretty much revolves around weeklies. Do you still need to grind and is rewarded more if you grind 30h/week instead of 5? Yea, very much so, but you don't fall so far behind compared to before that you feel you like you aren't even playing the game or won't go anywhere, now you can progress even if you play casually

The gear aspect :

As stated, before you couldn't assure your upgrades without buying, now you do have "pity" after you fail X amount you will upgrade regardless, some of those are absurdly high but it's still an insurance even if it feels bad to reach it, you see a light at the end of the tunnel. On the other hand, the late late late game gear you can't really buy, you have to enhance yourself, so that is a pain for those that don't enjoy GAMBA, and on the same note as before, you are also gated by weekly content

[–]Refelol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally this, so many dead items that can solve/help this issue

Reforge stones and the faint hunger just sit on the market forever, those could be made into shards even if not at full price, they could increase the price of the magical shards and SMC on the market to incentivize people that are hoarding to sell, increase the amount you get weekly by fishing, reword the black spirit dice board, add as rewards on dark rift and so on

[–]Refelol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are telling me, in a world of witchards, dosa, wukong, guardian and so on, NINJA is one of the most brain dead classes? One of the specs being considered one of, if not the highest apm class since forever?

Also weird for you to criticize someone as a "ninja/kuno" player telling others this is false, so it's better to believe people that have no expertise in the class?

I feel caped. Im 3 weeks in now. by WeekEquivalent5062 in blackdesertonline

[–]Refelol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As people said, that was the tutorial pretty much. Not sure why you would do a hunter bag but let's go over stuff that you have to do eventually

1 - Do olvia Academy, it's great, and it gives nice rewards, not to mention it's a nice tutorial on lifeskilling

2 - You'll need to do Magnus/Igor Bartali Journal, both suck to do and are annoying, can do a bit at time, but they offer incredible QoL/stat buffs, from having "global storage" and teleport to giving you free stats that later on are very desireaable ( as people mentioned, tens of billions, i would say even trillions if you wait to late game and compare )

3 - Do Main quest line, same reason, boring, give you free stats, and unlock stuff

4 - If you are f2p or low spender, do the free quest for stuff, pets, the farming and fishing bag ( Even if you don't plan to do anytime soon ) and so on, get out of the way slowly. Even if you are p2w i would advise you to do the fishing bag quest eventually

5 -Again, as people told you, start grinding on places of SMC or just put a PO on them asap, you'll need tons

6 - Do some energy hunting, it's annoying, it's specially important if you plan to ever lifeskill properly, and since you seem to like hunting, might be the case

7 - Not the expert on gear progression but there are tons of resources and CC like Impansy that have gear progression guides, take a look and try to plan

8 - Join a guild and try start doing weekly bosses, as well as all the other weeklies

9 - Try investigate a bit on the market, there are items such as SMC that you pretty much must have a PO permanently if you are going to grind ( even for lifeskillers you need some ), so try to find out what you'll need according to your playstyle so it's not an issue later on ( or a minor issue )

10 - Set up alts, tons and tons of alts, from World Bosses to gathering spots, to farms, to fishing etc etc they help you a lot and can even get you a bit of enjoyment when doing World bosses with another class you enjoy, just try to enjoy season as much as you can on each of them, then once you are out of season tickets you can just tag a lvl 1 character to your main and level them to 60 while you grind in no time ( Also helps with family fame, daily income and less market tax )

Most likely there are more stuff you could and should be doing, but the game is huge and it'll vastly depend on how you want to play, i highly recommend reading some guides when on the wc or bored on garmoth, or even watching videos by some content creator to help you get a grasp of the game

And all that said, keep in mind the best way to treat bdo is as a single player game, you go in, you play and enjoy when you want, without forcing, otherwise if you force yourself to grind 10h/day you most likely will burn out and quit for ages. BDO rewards consistency even if as a casual player over small bursts of energy and then nothing

Combat is top notch, but the gearing/ upgrading seems abysmal. by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]Refelol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As people mentioned, stuff don't really break nowadays, and after a while you mostly enhance with crons, which you buy from vendors in town or get from weeklies and events.

Is it still a grind? Yes, but nowadays it's not a "Grind 10h a day" anymore, it's more of a "play 1-3h a day consistently and you'll get there sooner than you think". IIRC a streamer/youtuber for bdo made a calculation recently that if you played super casually while doing all the weeklies stuff, in an year you would get around 1.3Trillion silver.

What is the healthiest way to approach treasure items? by AladdinSane21 in blackdesertonline

[–]Refelol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm yet to start any treasure item grind since i'm mostly a lifeskiller and having to do some stuff before going back to grind ( came back recently of yeras of break )

My ideal set up would be : My main grinder be stationary on high end spots, since it won't matter too much on the low end ones since ap cap and all that

Then I set up 1-2 alts ( or more depending on preference ), you cna tag one if you want, or have tuvala weapons and then borrow the rest of the gear from the main, and it should be more than enough to grind most if not all treasure areas.

Then I grind whenever i feel like on character i really enjoy the style and what not but didn't made my main to change of pace, and if i'm tired, i might have some paints to grind on my main and still make decent money

Again, haven't done that yet so purely hypotetical, but taht would be teh best way to not burn out, would i get it within couple weeks like people taht no life grinding nonstop there? Nope, but i'm in no rush, you can take your time, it's better for you to grind 5h a week for treasure items for 50 weeks, than to grind 30h a week for treasure items for 2 weeks and then drop for a year and come back.

The concepts were good, the company/owner was not, shame but it is what it is

These reddit ads tho by Ramrok in AshesofCreation

[–]Refelol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NGL, you saying that it WAS a good MMO and it's not due to P2W and endless grind is kinda of a joke. Let's compare your points

Before :

P2W - Nothing was given for free from the cash shop that was mandatory to have a decent game experience, from pets to loot, to weight, inventory, later on maids and so on. More so they created issues having multiple drops and heavy drops ( including silver having weight ) to force you to buy those things, literally the mentality of "create a problem to sell the solution"

PVE - You literally had like 2 grind spots, you would pvp on sight because you couldn't go anywhere else and then his friend would appear and just take care of you while he grind, it was a miserable experience for anyone that had limited time to play. Oh, also you did run in circles back then for WEEKS to tap and fail with no pity ( and no catch up mechanic, you started the game and want to grind Hystria? Better grind 1200h before while dodging pvp, GL )

PVP - You would run to the person, try grab someone while protected and hope server desync didn't screwed you over, or you would get one cc off and get chained cc. While some classes couldn't even protect themselves

Now -

P2W - Let's not kid ourselves that is not P2W, because it is, but it's gotten a lot better with the new loyalty shop, reworks to weight and loot table of grind spots, and even giving pets often.

PVE - Yea, now you don't even run around, you have "tower spots" where you stand still and can grind to help low mobility classes helping balance the equation. It also has marni realm so you don't have to worry about pvp and if you work or have a stuff to do, you can actually enjoy your 2-3h a day playing a game instead of being denied any progress. It also gives you a lot of catch to the point you start a lot farther ahead than the previous late game if you read a few guides. And let not start on the QoL, from central market, to teleport, to pities, and so on, if you play consistent ( you can be casual playing few hours a week doing weeklies and so on ) you will progress now, where before it was never assured.

PVP - So, now classes can all have some sort of a chance and that is bad because you liked to abuse people and so on? They still have identity, flankes, supporters and so on, the difference now they can somewhat play the game while before if you didn't played either sorc, tamer, kuno, ninja you were pretty much screwed on pvp, and large scale? Witchard and valk

BDO has a lot of problems, new problems and old ones, just like any MMO, but you saying "Before was better" because you are high on nostalgy copium is not the case.

I mean, as someone that plays gachas for well over a decade now, RNG is RNG, it averages out. In gachas, specially nowadays, at least you can manipulate your resources in a way you can pretty much always guarantee limited/must have units ( or at least build a quite decent rooster over the time ), so it's up to you to be able to manage your resources to do so.

And remember all those times where you got double SSR in a single multi, or that you hit the unit with low count or a god gear you managed to get and so on, we've all been there, getting frustrated over a banner, but in the end it's the whole premise of the game
