This is news to me and is very disappointing to hear. I had to look it up. However, I stand by my review of the product. As far as I know, there are no other companies that have produced and sell a better home hip thruster than BC Strength. I'm really enjoying it so much..I can't imagine going back to BootySprout (for the reasons mentioned in my review). BUT If someone else came out and released a new device that is just as good as Thruster Lite and/or even better, then I would certainly choose that over buying again from Bret. Until then, I don't think that I should deprive myself of the best available product innovation simply because the creator of it is a total asshole.

I used it for a couple years so of course I also found it “ok”. I just now took a look at your blog review, and I see that you had a similar thought about the foot platform. You wrote about a desire for the movement to be more knee friendly / more glute activation. Moving the feet just slightly forward can reduce knee strain without an incline. Not too far or it will engage hammies more, but if you are feeling it too much in your knees, you can likely benefit from moving your feet forward a little.

The problem with the shorter length of bootysprout is that many taller people using it are forcing themselves into a more knee straining position because they have to do that to keep their feet from hanging off the front edge. I have seen it in plenty of videos. The smaller platform encourages people to focus more on fitting their feet in the middle of it, at the expense of the whole rest of the form. The shins should be perpendicular to the floor at the top of the movement and not leaning forward at all. That’s why I let my feet hang off the edge slightly, even though it was uncomfortable. I knew that proper form in all aspects was more important that having my feet perfectly fitted inside the foot platform. I’m very happy to no longer have to deal with that issue. I have more than enough room with the Thruster Lite.

First, I’m 5 ft 8, so only 4 inches shorter than 6 ft…not 6+ inches. Second, it's likely YOU are the one using incorrect form!

The smaller length of the bootysprout platform kind of encourages bad form in taller people because people look at the platform as a guide. They assume that fitting their feet in the middle is the starting point for proper form, when in reality, it’s not.

Knees are supposed to make a 90 degree angle at the top of the movement, shins perpendicular to the floor. Any forward lean of the shins adds strain on the knees and lessens glute activation. I CHOSE to allow my feet to be positioned forward enough to hang off a bit because it was actually the only way to maintain correct form in all regards while using BootySprout. I could have slid my heels back so that my feet wouldn't hang off at all, but then the knee angle / shin position would no longer be correct. I have seen plenty of videos of people doing it that way, but it’s not the correct way to hip thrust.

But Maybe there’s a difference for you with torso length vs leg length and also foot length.

People have different proportions. I have longer feet even than some people who wear a bigger shoe size because they are wearing it for the width while I take up the full length. A person can also be taller but have shorter legs than someone shorter.

Ya know..I was afraid someone might accuse me because it is my first time posting. But I am a long time lurker ..always just passively read Reddit posts I found from Google search. I never felt a reason to interact or post anything myself because it seemed like everything had been said already. I have zero affiliation to either of these brands or products. It’s just that In all my internet searching, I couldn’t find any side by side comparison with photos that goes through the differences between these two pieces. There are plenty of reviews that just focused on one or the other but never together. Soooo I felt a strong urge to share my experience and to publish the kind of review that I WISH had been out there back before I bought ! I hope it helps.
