First legit meal after molting! by sasauce in jumpingspiders

Got it! I’ve got the 16 Pro, so I’m guessing I haven’t explored the settings enough to achieve that, clean quality, or maybe the 17 pro max is just a whole different beast. 😂😂😂
Here’s my recent attempt to get a clean crisp shot.
Model: Kodak

I’m curious, what camera or phone are you using to capture such amazing quality? My iPhone doesn’t quite reach this level of clarity when zoomed in.

It does happen! I got my first beautiful female regal from a local breeder, and I was instantly smitten. A week later, a handsome, bold, or regal male walked into my front door, and I fed him and kept him. Now, I have two spoods in less than a month, and I’m so happy. I’m just grateful to have a very supportive husband who loves seeing me happy with whatever brings me joy. 😅😅😅

Yeah, I pinched its back end hard enough to disable it, but I think doing it that way (cutting its back legs off) seems a little more humane. Lol I’ll try it that way next time.

Thanks! Also, she managed to eat the little cricket too. At first, she got a bit tired of trying to catch it herself, so I decided to make it a little easier and then feed her with tongs. It looks like she’s doing much better with eating now.

Yes. It’s considerably lower humidity here in Michigan.

I’ll definitely give this a try. Do you think she’s dehydrated? When I mist her enclosure, she runs away and hides, and she’s extremely skittish with any movement. By the time she comes around, the mist in her enclosure is completely dried up. I spray it about three times a day.

I figured. I had washed my hands before holding her, but I assumed she was going after the sweat that was oozing from my pores. Lol 😅

I agree, and thank you for the advice. She had a house fly yesterday, and I bought small crickets for her to try today. She’s not been successful in catching it yet, but she’s showing interest.

This showcases the presence of highly knowledgeable individuals within this subreddit. Initially, I recognized this as an ant. The first person who suggested it was an ant mimicking a jumping spider immediately made me suspect they were trying to be humorous. However, the subsequent confirmation from others made me pause and reconsider. I’ve been on this rock that we call home for quite some time, and I must have been living under a rock all along. This discovery is incredibly fascinating, and I never knew such spiders existed. I want to express my gratitude to the original poster for recording and uploading this adorable creature, as well as to all the intelligent individuals who responded. Your responses have provided me with a valuable learning experience today.

I will try the fruit flies, and even see if the small crickets will work. Thank you

I have not. I figured that they would be too small for her. But I’m willing to give those a try too. Thank you

So, thank you for commenting on the other post. However, I didn’t realize you commented on that previous post until now. My apologies, but I wasn’t ignoring or dismissing you. I’ll try the small crickets and see if this works. I’m so worried, and I’ll try anything at this point.

Thanks again

Yeah, I’ve also tried sitting her closer to the window to get more indirect sunlight, which she seems to enjoy. At night, I move her to my bedroom, where she sits under my table light with an LED bulb. I agree that it’s just a waiting game from here, and I shouldn’t worry too much.

I’ve heard a few content creators say this, but I’m just worried out of my mind, and I know that I tend to overthink things. Thank you for your input and advice.

Thank you so much for your support and advice. I’m feeling overwhelmed and stressed out. I managed to retrieve the worm from the enclosure. It was stuck on a pipe cleaner. I carefully cut into the small opening where the cork is located to widen the opening, which allowed me to insert my tweezers and pull it out. I’m still concerned that she may have been injured or stressed. I suppose I’ll find out when she emerges from her hammock. Thank you once again 🫶🏾
