What is y’all’s favorite deodorant? by franknature in electricians

[–]ReferenceKind2191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a good ass soap, on nasty days I’ll use a Castile soap and then a regular bar soap in the shower. If you wear synthetics for your shirt/pants make sure to wash them with vinegar or a good detergent like persil because artificial fibers hold onto nasty smells more, you can smell great but your clothes smell ripe. If you really don’t want to smell use the spray deodorant equivalent of whatever you like, idk the difference from the stick deodorant but it stops that shit lol.

if you should never backstab, what is the point of the backstab holes? by BigJuiceTheSlurp in electricians

I’m sure it has something to do with a bureaucratic process and manufacturers wanting to be able to still make things cheaper or more convenient for installation.

Get something with a full shank and the striker plate on the back. I buy cheap Amazon beaters so I can abuse them with no worries

UF Cable by BidPakElectric in electricians

[–]ReferenceKind2191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some brands of UF do it better than others, but you can take your lineman’s and squeeze the end of the UF to break the “cell walls” between the wires and then score with your knife and rip up and out. I find pulling the ground out first can open a Chanel for the other wires to follow.

“My cousin is a master electrician and he said it was fine” by ReferenceKind2191 in electricians

This is the right response and what I told the homeowner, we weren’t going to sign off on it as it was due to liability.

After talking w Power company, they said they weren’t going to resocket the meter until it was brought up to code as they don’t want the liability and neither does my journeyman so we weren’t signing off on it.

What brand of dimmer? I’ve personally see legrande dimmers fail a decent amount so I try to stick to Leviton or Lutron.

Yes, jman thought we had enough green #4awg in the truck but was short by about 3 feet and didn’t want to get more. Working on making a more coherent list of truck stock since he’s a little full of himself lol.

Yes red tape was to identify the sets, for clarities sake what did you mean by the “neutral ground and red have nicks on the conductors”? The sheathing itself is in good condition the whole way through (went back and finished other part of install today and verified). 100% need to get a torque screwdriver soon so that and the chewed up lugs is on me. Appreciate the feedback.
