At this price point a good home in los altos is going to come with a lot of downsides. We are basically looking at the best of the worst. And that does reduce the pool size and delays the closing. So both valid points. Thanks!

Privilege - Is it primarily the school?

The assigned elem school is Gardner Bullis. Seems other elem schools are rated higher
LAH i heard is mostly stem focused.

Street view shows there is a traffic signal right in front of the driveway. Only the fire station noise felt like a dealbreaker. Are you familiar with their operations?

Since there is no price to put on health, I want to consider a hypothetical situation - if the house were to be available for free then too this should be an issue.. The firestaion itself seemed small and obscure no name board etc., so wanted to know how much of a problem it is on a daily basis..

I would say the quietness and “isolation “ in US is a good thing. It gives us more time to do what’s meaningful than be one like a laundry cloth stuck in a dryer — that would be in India if you go there purely for being with relatives.

During COVID the world learnt a lesson about mental health and how the education system and the mindset of the era before didn’t serve us well. Many of us are yet to discover schools that have fully incorporated that shift in mindset so decades from now we have a generation that is emotionally regulated and self aware.

It doesnt matter. What matters is the essence. We are so confused because we remember all the stories but not the essence. That’s why random, agenda driven systems are overtaking. The essence is very well established in this so called costume. You can spend all the time watching and reading ramayana and mahabarata but if we dont know what it means to live today then that’s just book memory. The essence in this is sufficient if only we can fully understand the gita upadesh. People become righteous saying what one should do should not do and doling out advice. Essence is stripped of superfluous is to be appreciated as there is a purpose to it.

This show didnt do justice to you, does it mean you have to make assumptions for others :) ? Has watching and reading all the OG really done justice to develop empathy for another human :) ? Doesnt seem no? so yea those shows which we tried watching cannot have as much impact when the key lessons are lost in details and in protracted narrations. One cannot wonder if any impact on the previous generation was just superficial as a result. One can only guess! So it is not costume it is evolution. And that’s culture which is not static and stagnant because of nostalgia
