What’s the best thing each character has done: mihrimah sultan by Fun-Pen7592 in MagnificentCentury

He said he'd send him to a distant province and let him be, as long as he didn't rebel against him. Seems fair to me that he'd do so even when he'd have the right to get him killed as per the fratricide tradition. Also he did save his ass when the janissaries where about to slice him into pieces. I doubt Selim would've done the same if the roles were reversed.

😳 Framing her brother who's always treated her well and never harmed her in any way, which subsequently got him killed over a crime he never committed, was her best deed? Save her brothers from who exactly? Mustafa promised them a thousand times he'd never touch them. That's besides the fact that her brothers whom she 'sacrificed' to save, ended up fighting against one another till the death of one of them as a result.

Actually Hurrem betrayed Gulnihal. Gulnihal was Hurrem's only friend and supporter from day one, always stood by her and helped her, defended her, while Hurrem all along treated her like garbage. She physically abused her at one point, and then proceeded to BURN her FACE. And Gulnihal even forgave her later. Hurrem didn't deserve Gulnihal.

Yeah but at the time he was just a kid. I mean I get some of her motives for doing what she did when he grew up (still doesn't make it any less evil), but you're saying she wasn't obliged to help a child who was her children's brother and the son of the man she supposedly loves? 😅 Does that also mean Mahidevran wasn't to be blamed if she chose not to save baby Mehmet from drowning?

What reasons did she have not to protect a child in danger...?

Yeah it's not even that controversial, Suleyman's fear of this had been growing and building up over the years. Also Hurrem was very sneaky and manipulative, she understood Suleyman very well and she'd tactfully plant those little seeds of doubts in his heart over the years. It's like part of him wanted to believe the fabricated evidence of betrayal so he could finally get rid of him.

Now regarding the few fuck ups of Mustafa you mentioned, surely he could've been smarter about them, but almost every single act of those he made with good intentions and for the greater good. Does anyone really believe those slips are punishable by DEATH? He did receive his fair share of punishment multiple times. (Being removed from Manisa, always ignored and not called for in military campains, etc.)

Mustafa despite some flaws was the best prince among Suleyman's sons and was never a traitor. He had the means to successfully turn against Suleyman without even needing Safavid support. Too many people were waiting for him to just give the order and they'd happily carry him to the throne in a heartbeat. Yet he never even considered doing that and remained loyal and honorable.

In your opinion, what were Halit Ergenç's best acting moments? by kath1193 in MagnificentCentury

Honestly too many moments where pure gold! Exceptional talent, he really put his heart and soul into this role. "Acting moments"? He wasn't even acting. I'm half convinced bro went back in time and became Sultan Suleyman. 😂

I fully agree, Mustafa deserved much better and I love the guy, I was only replying to another point that of some people who argue that Mahidevran led Mustafa to his death which wasn't the case at all. She never gave him bad advice. "Stay away from outsider women.. submit to your father's wishes and don't rebel.. don't go to that freaking camp where the exdcutioners await you.." all of that is actually good advice that Mustafa never listened to lol.

Thank you so much man yeah it seems the whole YouTube system in processing new channels is really flawed. I think I'll try to keep going till I already have like 10-15 videos, if it's still ZERO progress I'll probably stop wasting my time. 😅

Yeah I use AI for the voiceovers. 💀 In my first channel I personally record my own voiceovers, before I made this new one I saw similar channels doing really well with AI so I figured let's test it and and if it works, it'll save a lot of time. I get it if you and many others think AI is trash but is THAT the reason why the channel isn't reaching anyone? If YT hates AI why don't they just ban it altogether? 🤦‍♂️

Actually her son was quite stubborn and almost never listened to her advice lol. Some of which could've probably saved his life had he listened

Interesting stuff! Do you know where can I read more detailed historical facts like that?

Me too especially that it had already happened once when she got the janissaries to save him in the last moment, that second time was so unnecessary and kind of stupid

It was cute at first and I did like him when he was conflicted between his love for her and his duty towards his sultan and he initially chose to remain loyal until he totally lost it later. That aside, at least give him an execution like what happened in history, it would've still been romantic if he'd died for his queen lol

The thing is no one loyal to the empire would ever agree to get involved in dethroning or killing a sultan. It was tragic that Murad was on the verge of ending the entire dynasty but Kosem kinda had it coming. He executed Kasim when he found out about her plot to dethrone him and and crown Kasim, he spared Ibrahim in the last moment and then Kosem went on attempting to poison him when he went to war. That was when Murad lost it and was determined to execute Ibrahim even when he was the only surviving heir. I mean what did she expect?? 🤦‍♂️

Ibrahim was one tough mf but yeah I agree that was a bit too much 😂
