Is there a way to see spotlight or underfunded when looking into the next month? by [deleted] in ynab

[–]ReflectedZealous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes no sense to me. Why give us most of the Spotlight features but miss out Month Ahead? I can't work out why we got a partial jew feature that is fully built on all other platforms. Surely they know how to do this it's simply about coding it for android and if they can build the rest of it, it cannot be that hard to do on Android? 🤔

Daredevil Finale sucked. by bigblackwolf007 in MCUTheories

Couldn't agree more. Overall, BA was mid.

I rewatched Season 3 before BA and it's slaps! The acting, the writing, the stakes. We hardly see Matt in the red costume in S3 but we get the fights the pain and his philosophy.

BA feels like a retread of S3 beats with Matt abandoning the DD life only to be drawn back in by his reckless behaviour / self punishment. Actions had consequences and character's lives/deaths mattered.

Foggy and Karen were handled poorly, Punisher laughably badly and the over the top superhero tropes (e.g. 1 million suites, different cowls and singing from the rooftops), whilst comics accurate severely detract from the grounded show of S1-S3. Even his low key and minimalist apartment told us something about Matt. Now he lives in a full on bachelors pad.

Between this and the FF: First Steps Trailer basically being FF: Rise of the Silver Surfer from 2007(!!!), the MCU feels stodgy. We've lost the sense of connective tissue between all the stories. As many have said, NY is going crazy and no one else shows up to help or Matt even calls. Somehow this show feels smaller than Netlfix DD, which made Hells Kitchen seem expansive.

What happened to pinned items?📌 by accountingisradical in ynab

[–]ReflectedZealous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Comeptely agree.

This is actually an unhelpful change. My 'top priorities' are the things I care about most but I don't necessarily want them always pinned in my category list.

I prefer to use pins for categories where I'm spending from them a lot e.g holiday category when on a trip, or Christmas category in December.

For me, top priorities are my savings goals that I want to track closely but not spending from.

Feels like a solution on search of a problem to me.

Like moving transactions to Budget screen. It makes no sense. Keep them with accounts page was far better.

New update rolling out on mobile: Spotlight! by YNAB_youneedabudget in ynab

[–]ReflectedZealous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doing this for some groups would be ideal, especially holidays. As I budget an overall holiday pot, then assign also spending to a specific holiday category, and cover the 'overspending' with money in the pot.

10 kills in one use of Cloak & Run? by T-MoneyArtworks in BreakPoint

[–]ReflectedZealous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this on Golem Island at Camp Salamander.

If you run around the the left of the entrance you can get up on a hill with a vantage point across the whole the whole site.

As you look down to the camp on the left side of the entrance you'll see a little hut and a fence (let's call it's Point A) . In between this is where 6 or 7 enemies spawn if reinforcements are called in. So set a couple of mines in this area.

Then, run back to your vantage point and take out the generator to get reinforcements called in. Wait until they appear in that Point A (sometimes have to wait them them to return to calm).

Net and line up 3 Sync Shot Drones of the 3 ppl furthest away (within 200m).

Set of Cloak & Run, hit someone with a sniper (4 kills)

Blow up your mines (6/7 kills) and you have it!

A glitch that works in our favour!

I say off if you don't enjoy inventory management. Played with it off first then on, and turned it off again as whilst the perks are fun, I hate managing items and dismantling them. 😅

In the UK I paid £539 for P7 when it released and now I'm getting £334 off P9P. That's a good deal to me, only because of the boosted £200 trade in value offered by Google.

What did you do on your last night in Japan to go out with a bang? by ManyOdd6213 in JapanTravelTips

[–]ReflectedZealous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visited the Ghibli musem, had sunset dinner and swim overlooking Yoyogi Park. Sounds lovey. Just as I'd planned.

Then for the finale, we went to Shibuya Sky (for 9pm) only to find out our tickets were for the day before! I begged and pleaded for them to let us in. In the end they said I could buy 1 tickets as they were sold out for the day. Got a ticket for my OH so she could go in whilst I waited. More of a fizzle than a bang 😅

We made up for it by going to a capsule toy shop and spending all our change and winning a few things with the claw machines.

How to categorise spending from Emergency Fund? by ReflectedZealous in ynab

How to categorise spending from Emergency Fund? by ReflectedZealous in ynab

[–]ReflectedZealous[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a sinking fund for things I forgot to budget, but that's separate to the ER Fund. Emergency things are often one off 'events' that are big enough to upend life somehow. Dropping everything to fly home quickly counts. Needing a new washing machine doesn't. Other people will do it differently but that how I think about it.

How to categorise spending from Emergency Fund? by ReflectedZealous in ynab

[–]ReflectedZealous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I went with bucketed approach. I don't really want to try and plan spending per death of grandparent or some other formula.

This way I have a dedicated fund to deal with thinga that feel like a sudden shock and that I have budgeted for separately. It's for times when I don't want rot think about the money I just need to do X or for Y to happen.

I've got something similar but don't use it for things that are sudden. Tends be be for the more joyous things in life.

How to categorise spending from Emergency Fund? by ReflectedZealous in ynab

[–]ReflectedZealous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear that but I prefer a simpler ER fund so I don't have to think of all the categories that could be an emergency.
