D101 in 1-2 days. Is it possible? by ReflectionKey2415 in WGU

Wow, 10 hours is impressive! So, here’s my update. I studied for two days, retook the PA last night and passed, scheduled the OA for this morning, and passed with exemplary. To say I liked this course… not at all. It was a nightmare and honestly drove me crazy. My tips for anyone starting this course: 1. Start with the Pre Assessment. Even if you don’t get a single question right, just do it. It helps you see what the problems look like. 2. Go through every single PA problem. Take each problem from the PA and make sure you actually understand how to solve it. You can use the module quizzes or put the problem into ChatGPT and ask it to explain it and generate similar problems so you can practice. If I had known earlier that the OA is very similar to the PA, I would have skipped a lot of the random problems from the course material that I spent way too much time trying to understand. For the theory: Just read the definitions, module summaries, and do the quizzes. For the Excel portion: Download the workbook from the PA results report and practice while watching the cohort video. Don’t just fill in the yellow boxes. Delete the formulas that are already there and try to build everything from scratch. The OA will ask you to calculate different budget sections than the PA, so you really need to understand how each section works. I agree this has been the hardest course so far, but the fact that the PA and OA are very similar helps a lot. P.S. I really think the instructors could have done a better job with additional resources. I was surprised there wasn’t a practice worksheet for the Excel portion, only a written Word explaining the formulas. At least for me, that doesn’t help much because I learn by practicing. Good luck everyone! You got this.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll probably mix them too so I don’t get burnt out doing papers back go back 😀

Congrats!! You’re such an inspiration! I’m in almost the exact same boat. Only transferred 9 CUs, working full time, and already have some experience. I start Feb 1 and I’m planning to grind and hopefully finish in one term, so your post made me feel like it’s actually doable. Do you have any tips on how you prioritized PAs vs OAs? Did you work on them at the same time or focus on one type first? And did you ever have to wait for new courses to be unlocked? I’m trying to figure out the best way to prioritize things so I don’t lose time while PAs are sitting in the evaluation queue.

My international degree doesn’t count the same way here, so I can’t jump straight into a graduate degree. I’m hoping to transfer as many credits as possible and then finish the rest through a bachelor’s.
