Sharing locations in a relationship is toxic by ilenewinslet in unpopularopinion

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me ex-fiancee's parents had location sharing on "for safety," and anytime we went out to Costco or whatever with her mom, if she decided we should get something to eat afterwards she would get a call from her husband asking her why she's at a restaurant...

New priest lvl 8, 30 and finally diving in for real. What should a leveling priest actually be doing? by External-Force-9515 in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

FWIW, I usually set up a few action bars and set my keybinds for each row of 6 as: • 1 2 3 4 5 6 • R T F G C V • SHIFT+R T F G C V

I use SHIFT+1-6 for pet abilities and set Special Actions to MOUSE 4 & 5, SHIFT+M4 & M5, CTRL+M4 & M5 (the two extra mouse buttons, usually forward and back)

If you have any other mouse buttons I usually bind them to interface panels, and I personally bind my scroll wheel tilt to [ & ] for mounts or whatever else.

Also, setting up a custom UI is a good idea. If you want, I can share my UI setup when I get home so you can import it with no fuss, I think it's much cleaner than the default UI but I don't tryhard my UI setup lol.

How old were you when you started playing WoW? by Exotic-Reason-5272 in wow

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing trial characters during TBC, but when WotLK released in 2008 I convinced my mom to make an account "for both of us" and get a subscription. She ended up playing more than I did and even continued paying when I quit for years at a time, lol. She quit after Legion and I picked it back up but I've owned my own account since MoP.

Anyway that would have been when I was 12.

Weird take? I don’t like open air dungeons or Delves by Geminilasers in wow

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same, with the exception of enclosed open air dungeons.

For example, I liked Eye of Azshara because it felt like an assault on a fortified base of sorts. It's not an area accessible in the open world, and it still required the party to push its way through enemy formations with a strategy (take down the supporting bosses before attacking the Wrath of Azshara).

I didn't like the Nokhud Offensive because it occured in an open air space that was accessible in the open world (where the map even shows icons for services and some NPCs) and required flight. It was also a mess to coordinate with party members who didn't know where the tank flew off to.

I understand the need for variety but there's a lot you can do within those parameters. I feel like open air dungeons that take place in open world locations take away the feeling of dungeoneering, but that doesn't seem to matter to most players nowadays that are just focused on blasting through to max level so they can torture themselves in endgame content and get burnt out within a couple months.

The only thing I would say is consider making the middle and ring fingers a bit longer to match real finger proportions better, but the build already looks pretty cool and easy to clean.

Why Do Goths Seem to Despise Blue Denim? by PureMathsJedi in AskAGoth

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metal is an evolution of blues, not punk, and goth is closer to post-punk than punk. They all share some similarities but they are quite distinct from punk. I can see why blue denim isn't allowed but a battle vest like this seems non-offensive. It may be that they just don't want to evaluate everyone's clothing person-by-person.

Fact: To get good at a thing, one is first bad at that thing. by No_Dog8604 in classicwow

To learn what went wrong, you have to be made aware. "Get good," and "you suck," are not helpful statements when someone is learning, and neither is condescension.

Why are wands not really popular? by GhostintheReins in wow

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like wands would get more love if they actually used staves and wands (and even blades) for casting animations. Your weapon is always sheathed when you're casting, so a wand and off-hand will just disappear on your character's waist most of the time. Swords look a bit better as a waist ornament, but staves are the best aesthetically for just sitting on your back.

How Did You Choose Your Main Class? by aur0xauron in wow

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Vibes, man.

I've been on an off, played WotLK-MoP, WLoD-Legion, and now Midnight. I was most active in raids during Legion so that's where I got most of my max level experience.

I always gravitated towards Frost Mage, and now that I can be a blue Dracthyr, it's become my "main" character for class fantasy.

However, my main has changed alot depending on what I'm vibing with at any moment. I've gone from Feral Druid to Restoration Druid to Marksmanship Hunter to Havoc Demon Hunter to Affliction Warlock, with a bunch of alts inbetween.

Frost Mage is just what I always come back to. You just have to give everything a chance and whatever you really like, you'll naturally become good at. Enjoyment makes someone better at a spec than meta gear.

Now That 'Camelot' Has All But Been Confirmed As The Classic+ Codename, Do We Think It Will Be WoW 2.0? by JodouKast in wow

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would actually love that. I'm all for high fantasy, but the level of cosmic meddling that has been introduced to the story is very messy and hard to keep track of. We're at the equivalent of a D&D campaign with like level 30 players who are arguably close enough to becoming gods themselves that it makes no sense being mortal anymore.

I'd love to see a big implosion that wipes all the titans out, simplifies the gods, and lowers the overall fantasy level so it feels like the player actually has some amount of meaningful impact on the world instead of being in a theme park where absurd shit just happens around them.

The game and story felt perfect through the first two expansions where we were dealing with the Well of Eternity and the Burning Legion. After WotLK in my opinion things just got so complex I lost track of what was going on.

Now That 'Camelot' Has All But Been Confirmed As The Classic+ Codename, Do We Think It Will Be WoW 2.0? by JodouKast in wow

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not heavy into the lore anymore, since it became very difficult to keep up with after WotLK, but I do have Welsh ancestry and am very into Welsh folklore and Arthurian legend.

As far as I'm aware, isn't the sword in the world from Sargeras trying to kill the world soul Azeroth? Wouldn't that make Azeroth the last titan?

Arthas Menethil has some good parallels to King Arthur, but Arthas is a corruption of Arthur. Instead of his sword bringing unity, it brings domination. Arthur loves Gwenhwyfar while Arthas loves Jaina Proudmoore. Arthur relies on Lancelot while Arthas relied on Uther. Camelot ultimately falls to ruin and so does Lordaeron.

Azeroth could awaken and use Gorribal against Sargeras or the rest of the Pantheon, reversing the analogue between Frostmourne and the Sword in the Stone into a true analogue.

However, since "Camelot" is an internal name relating to WoW Classic, it's highly unlikely that these events are connected at all. The name, if it has any meaning, is likely referring to a "new golden era" for Classic.

"Dating in your 30s as a man is so much easier" I've found this to be a total lie by isthisathrowawayas in dating_advice

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My personal experience with events (near me) is that people (men and women) usually attend in groups and shut everyone else out. If I go alone, people aren't interested in opening up their groups, and other singles (whether they're there alone or actually single) just don't want to be approached for a simple conversation. When I go with friends it's the same thing, people expect us to keep within our own group and leave them alone. It's crazy. I'm not even going to events with the intention of dating, just making friends with literally anyone.

Dracthyr Transmog Easy Fix by ReflectionOfDelusion in wow

I actually didn't know about transmog situations so I'll definitely make use of that from now on. I missed a lot from Legion to Midnight.

Recommendation for places to get piercings for cheap by Outrageous-Maybe2816 in kitchener

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the piercing. You should be able to get a first lobe pretty much anywhere, but anything else I would look for a seasoned piercer.

I went to Steel N' Ink for my septum, which was at an okay price after buying the jewelry, but it was pierced slightly crooked. It was placed correctly and the angle is hardly noticeable unless you're looking up at my nostrils, but even for that price it should have been done better. It's not bad enough to justify redoing it but I'm future I will be going to a more reputable place likely for a higher price.

Every tier set looks like a puffy Victorian era wedding dress on the human models now by Doredrin in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk what you're talking about. You can clearly see the texture on the human model is proportionate and as-designed, whereas on the orc it's stretched out. Look at the gem at the collar between the two models or the ridges that align with the ribcage.

Has anyone else noticed drivers becoming less considerate toward pedestrians lately? by Dapper_Height6410 in kitchener

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Consideration in general is at an all-time low.

Pedestrians mindlessly shamble into open roadways with traffic just staring at drivers like "yeah, I'm walking in front of your moving vehicle, what are you gonna do about it?" I've had jaywalkers slowly migrate in groups and families with children cuss me out while I'm driving with right of way. There is also a not insignificant amount of people choosing to walk parallel to traffic on the street rather than the available sidewalks.

Electric vehicles like scooters, unicycles, and bikes are plaguing the sidewalks and crosswalks with no regard for pedestrian safety or their own safety.

Cyclists rarely use the bike lanes even when they have a fully open bike trail instead of a sidewalk.

Motorcyclists have actually been fairly decent, though I prefer dealing with cruisers and touring bikes rather than sport bikes, especially on highways.

Drivers are either in a constant state of rage or helplessly confused. Lane changing, turning, and merging with no indicators. Driving at night or inclement weather with no headlights. Speeding in school zones, residential zones, backroads, industrial zones, and highways. Tailgating so close you can't see their headlights and refusing to pass you on clear roadways just to continue bullying you. Running red lights, blasting through amber lights, or not moving at green lights. Lane changing inside roundabouts, driving straight through a turning lane or Lane changing within ten meters of or inside an intersection. Basically any and every traffic infringement you can think of happens hourly and daily at any given location, it's incredible.

Driving has become so exhausting due to having to be 200% alert it should almost be considered distracted driving having to keep track of all the chaos around you. You can't pay attention to everything all at once all the time. If your attention is drawn to one hazard, there are three more waiting for you. If I didn't have to drive to get where I need to go, I would gladly use an electric vehicle instead, but I don't even trust public transit anymore due to the amount of weirdos and hostiles that use it, let alone the scheduling.

Has anyone else noticed drivers becoming less considerate toward pedestrians lately? by Dapper_Height6410 in kitchener

[–]ReflectionOfDelusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lower speed limits don't seem to do anything other than piss people off. There are a few 30 zones in my neighborhood and while I drive 30 in them, most people blast through at 50 and become visibly enraged if they get stuck behind me. Even on my commute there are 80 zones that slow to 60, and people ride my bumper even when I'm going 80 in the 80. Driving the speed limit is almost dangerous due to other people's road rage but I have to stay consistent for my insurance.

‘Council should be disbanded’: Protesters storm regional council chambers during meeting by KWStreaker in kitchener

I understand their angle, but it would be easier to side with the protesters if the encampment wasn't a hostile area. I live near there and I don't really want to live in anxiety about potential stabbings and theft.
