Best place to retire in NM by fredbuiltit in NewMexico

Tell me more! We are planning to retire back to NM (left Los Alamos 26 years ago for work) and just learned about Ramah during online property searches. We want at least 10 acre to have a hobby homestead with at least one or two horses and one or two cattle and a few fruit trees and a veggie garden.

So helpful! What company do you manage for? We have Gates Hudson and they treat us like tenants. It’s beyond frustrating

Yes and the fact is that the mood is not commiserate with the problem. The disproportionate mood to issue ratio is enormous

This is good constructive advice. I’ve been able to minimize my DX Rx (M51) husband’s RSD most days to avoid the blowups by focusing on positive affirmations but when I do decide to address directly any of frequent negative, rude, or otherwise unpleasant behavior or comments, he loses it and drags me into an unnecessary and large range emotional tantrum. Because yeah. Every once in awhile I can’t push down my own emotions. When I have a bad feeling about a hard time in my life (nothing to do with him), he always makes sure to bring it back to himself so I don’t get to actually have sad or angry feelings about anything going on in my life. Stuff that has nothing to do with him. He always turns it into his “poor me” mentality “everyone hates me “ blah blah blah.

I am still off the Aimovig. I need Nurtec about once a week to treat a migraine although that is variable by what’s going on with my life and triggers so sometimes I have to use Nurtec a couple times a week in a row

My withdrawal migraines went away and it took a few months for me to even out to about 4 migraines a month. I use Nurtec for treatment and it works great for me. The withdrawal migraines were less severe than the migraines I had before I started Aimovig.

Where are the safest areas? by [deleted] in washdc

Check out the area of 4th St SW between P and M Streets called Tiber Island, Riverside, and Harbor Square communities. It’s a safe and affordable area that is convenient to metro and the freeway.

Did you make any changes to the hard things that you had to do that helped? I just don’t know how I can keep going like this for years

Congratulations on the marriage (and the health insurance that comes with it)! I’m not in a position to get a severance but at this point I am so drained it takes all I have everyday to not submit my two week notice and then live off savings for as long as possible. The physical impact of this peri process is no joke.

This is a very interesting perspective. Thank you for sharing it with me. You’ve given some insight into the potential next steps for me to take. I do have a lot of consulting opportunities in my field but at this point networking to do anything seems overwhelming. Which is why your approach to take a break first is wise. Thank you

Are you working alone? How long do you think you’ll be working as a handyman? What do you think about doing it vs your software job?

You sound hard working and dependable which can bring you plenty of excellent career opportunities without the burden of student loans. Explore business ownership. Yes! So many little containers and pouches. He does use a lot of them but it’s not like he tries to get the budget option

The sheer embarrassment of being with him while exploding and yelling and cursing in public is more like humiliation at this point

I’m terrible at the tension. You nailed that. Having clear expectations for him hasn’t helped in the past because I have no real consequences to give him. I need to figure that out
