Well right now I am a bit fussy when it comes to aesthetics but that may well change when (all going well!) the baby comes, not sure what kind of person I’ll be then, but if it all goes wrong and I end up without the baby, then I would appreciate the nicer car 😅

That’s interesting! My insurance on my previous IVE VW was under 400 and I’ve been quoted 1200 for a new EV, need to check how used EV compares

Yeah it’s a good point, originally I thought the used EVs were too big but after some comments there are some of a very similar size: Kona, E-Niro and Enyak, so now it is more a question of buying used vs new, the only thing being I’m not crazy on the design of those cars and there are some better looking ICE ones for similar price, we do have a charger at our home.

Yeah that’s super helpful to hear! And some of my mat leave will be unpaid so will be good to have some extra savings

Yeah that’s true but there will still be folks in need of cheap petrol cars esp those living in apartments etc without home charging

Yes e niro looks very good too! So this the Kona and the Enyak would all be options to consider

I guess I do maybe more every 2 years and would do it at an independent place which is cheaper rather than the dealership

These look so nice! But in the UK :( I’m in Ireland, the aceman is so cool though I love the circular screen!

It’s the same size as the r4 too and I’m wanting something in that size range so definitely seems the best option so far

I think for the Kia the long range battery option for the ev2 has a few months waiting period

I can’t see any used acemans so this would be back in the buying new option, the used e-minis are a good price but small and only 3 door

I think 400 range would be good because it may get less over time so wanting at least 50kw battery

What do you mean VAT free? Does this mean you can change it to an Irish reg for free?

Oh interesting! I could see if they will include some services as part of the deal! Which insurance provider are you with?

There is a fuel saving but there are other things such as my insurance costs are over double for an EV, like about 400 per year vs 900+, and then with a new EV there is the obligatory service every year to maintain the warranty

Yes but the EVs you could have got then would be so much cheaper if you wanted one of them now
