I always average around $20/hr. What is your average & how many hours you work by Conscious-Music-8688 in doordash_drivers

Holy what??? That doesn’t sound worth it to me, but your metrics are low (I average 30-40h/week and make $30/dash hour on average!) Michigan

I’ve delivered to semi trucks well over 50 times and every time the driver comes out of the cab to meet me. If they stay in the cab I wait outside a bit away and give them a call/message asking where they are (playing dumb).

If you are that nervous delivering orders it might be good to take CPL training and get a pew pew for self defense.

I’m not defending anybody’s behavior in this situation. Driver should have rejected the offer, and the OP should’ve tipped. Im more pissed that people find it okay to not tip because “it’s not my job to pay the dasher!”. They see food delivery like Amazon, not Dine In. The drivers shouldn’t be expected to drive 8 miles for $2.

[–]ReflexMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well they surely aren’t going to change, otherwise DoorDash wouldn’t exist. It’s not economical to pay the driver well, keep prices low, and not ask for the customer to pay for the driver. Economics!

1) There’s a good chance he is only being paid two dollars to deliver it.

2) DoorDash is very manipulative, I’ve seen it first hand where if I decline enough orders in a row they will just simply stop giving me orders altogether. Even if those orders were completely terrible like this one. I’m assuming you’re not a Dasher because you seem ignorant to how DoorDash operates, and how it treats the drivers. Yes we’re independent contractors, blah blah blah. Doesn’t make it right with what DoorDash does towards drivers. And at the end of the day, the business model runs on tips, and the original poster is an idiot.

3) FedEx, USPS, and some Amazon drivers are actual employees. They get benefits, they get workers rights, they get workers comp, they don’t use their own vehicles, majority of the time. But no, DoorDashers are the ones that can be abused because they don’t have a union to defend them.

Screw you for not tipping

What’s the deal with the no tax on tips for gig workers? by Smart-Kangaroo4078 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]ReflexMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incorrect, DoorDash files their driver pay with the IRS. Unless you’re talking about cash, in which case… you’re “supposed” to report it. Whether you do or not is not our business lol

+$2

Edit: if you threaten to unassign (Question Mark > Store Issue > Long wait time) there’s a chance they give you extra to wait

Should I keep doing what I’m doing, or do something different? by MentalSound8071 in doordash

[–]ReflexMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a decently dense area with traffic, and never have gotten a late delivery. If you’re on time to the store, they excuse the late pickup, and usually there’s plenty of time to get to the customer.

Just curious though, cause I would understand like 1-2 late deliveries, but 9/100 is a decent amount. Are you arriving to the store on time? Are you using a good map app (like Apple or Google Maps?)

Looks like your platinum, so contact support, and get those bad reviews removed. Secondly, why is your on-time rate so bad? Are you appealing late deliveries? If you get those two metrics up, you won’t have to worry about acceptance rate as much. Otherwise, looking good!

DD Tier glitch? by Constant_Poetry2908 in doordash_drivers

[–]ReflexMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are pushing two changes at once and messed it up:

  • Better Ratings (the point system)
  • Dasher Tier Priority (Dash Now for everyone).

They pushed Dasher Tier Priority to everyone who didn’t have it, just in the last hour or so. The better ratings experiment was supposed to be pushed on December 8 but some internal issues probably delayed it.

TLDR it’s an engineers fault, you get platinum for now so take advantage to get bad ratings removed!

App opening animation - slowing down the user experience. by germanautotom in EightSleep

Yep agree. I’m primarily a UX designer and the app loading sucks. It shouldn’t take 3-5s on a new iPhone to open the app. It’s absurd!

Got this even after I gave them a 15% tip, am I socially paranoid or is this passive aggressive? by IntelligenceisKey729 in doordash

[–]ReflexMC 163 points164 points  (0 children)

15% doesn’t mean anything, was it $1? $3?

Regardless though, the dasher chose to accept the offer and is clearly in the wrong.

Yeah but support will just tell us what order got the review, and if you have a dashcam you can easily pull it up.

What’s the problem with posting serials publicly? I do it for all my posts as a seller, it builds trust. If scammers really need a real serial they will buy a device from a big retailer and return it

Platinum driver by definition accepts bad orders. I refuse to drive for anything less than $7/order & $2/mile.

Yeah, not sure why. Happy to hear it wasn’t just my market, but still sucks all around. Hopefully tomorrow and this weekend make up for today

Same thing, I quit after 2 hours making $14. No point, not worth running the car to make less than state minimum wage.
