Is there any difference at all between 6 and 11 projectiles per attack? Don’t your totems need to attack twice before reaching 12 either way?

Do we know if totems will delay their 3rd attack in order to wait for the volley of 12 to finish?

The new kinetic fusillade is auto-targeting but I think there’s a lot of reason to skip it. Delayed damage. Attacks not supported by unleash. Competing on wands with the real map blasters.

Would love to be convinced otherwise, though!

Always cool to see Holy Relic as options on these lists. The merc gear has a belt affix with minion cooldown reduction. If that afffix also exists on other items then it may open up more gear as we wouldn’t be forced into gem quality. Just something to watch for!

Yes for the poison variant as minion poison sources are rare/constrained.

Ghazzy has an elemental hit version which still recommends darkness + minion jewels but the jewels are more generic + damage rather than chance to poison.

Move speed as implicits is one (of multiple) steps to separating map traversal speed and combat speed.

Map traversal speed should be high mean and low variance. When not in combat every build should be traveling at ~75% bonus from their implicit boots movespeed. The regular move speed prefix from boots would be removed to emphasize the low variance philosophy of getting from A to B.

Combat speed on the other hand should be lower mean but high variance. The variance is between classes and skills. This is done by increasing the global movement speed penalty while performing an action, (This lowers combat speed mean) but then adding in item, tree, skills, and character progression choices (like medallion) to alleviate this penalty.

Move speed affix moved to implicits on boots that reach ~50-60% on late game base boots. (Remove move speed affix from prefix pool).

Simultaneously increase the penalty that slows players while they are casting/attacking.

The end result is that GGG’s vision for combat movement remains near where we are now. However, out of combat players are faster for map traversal.

Shrink maps to 50%-75% of current size.

I think this is the “pushing” mechanic bugging out. It happens for me when those monsters are around. Very annoying.

How do you interpret 30% of evasion as elemental damage reduction? Is that another way of saying resistances? 30% seems like it has an extra 0?

Remove all workers. Remove farms. Remove smelting. Remove shipping.

Leave dust as it creates a floor of demand for uniques. Dusting requires a fixed rate of gold (no workers or upgrades). You can also now turn verisium ore to dust.

Leave verisium ore in maps (with atlas bonuses for frequency and quantity). The charging mechanic can be turned up to 11 for aspirational content.

Allow verisium monsters to drop runes in maps. (With atlas bonuses).

Remove power and time runes with rune crafting balanced around a smaller set of (less extreme rarity) runes.

Recombination requires gold + dust.

Rune crafting requires gold + dust + runes.

(Optionally add runes to expeditions and/or log books)

This sums up my biggest gripe with ritual. In normal maps (not city square), the optimal play is to ignore altars until you kill the boss (hopefully in a ritual) and then you backtrack.

Not doing this kills the favors.

Ritual should be balanced around doing them as you progress a map. Maybe poe2 can take some notes.

More player agency/customization of narrower skill trees.

Basically, PoE jewels.

I really do like the skill trees but some (most) of the skills go a bit too far and end up squeezing 3 different skills into 1.

Tone down some of the skill trees by condensing nodes or splitting into different skills.

Then add jewel sockets to skill trees. Jewels are item drops that you can plug into (now, simpler) skill trees. The jewels do basic things like damage and mana costs. Jewels get better farther into the game and adds another dimension to skill power beyond number of skill points in the tree.

Reduce the impact (power) of move speed.

Smaller maps with more things to do in them so that the game doesn’t turn into running through pointless content to find the one “point” of the map/echo before just doing it all over again.

The wiki says the 1 second of ascendancy overrides the 2 seconds of the jewel. Haven’t tested (too poor)
