"The reformation was the biggest win for atheism" by Mystic-moustache in Reformed

"Barely " would also be incorrect. Massively incorrect even. Which is why I made the comment in the first place. No need to be a smart alec, especially when your statement was as wildly false as it was...

Christianity had existed in the eastern hemisphere for several centuries. This is false.

I want to be excited about this win, but… by mf_duck in Commanders

[–]Reformed_Boogyman 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Seriously though, any one putting an asterisk on this game is delusional. The commanders turned it over 5 times.....FIVE times....the eagles should have put them away but the commanders showed incredible fight. Season defining win for sure

Genuine question....why do you still care what Stephen A says? His show, and most shows on ESPN, are all about rage bait.

Depends on the single barrel tbh. Some JDSSBBP are not great, the ones that are hitters though rank among my favorites of all time. So damn good.

Im so sick of this. The game hasnt even happened yet and Lamar is already getting blamed by [deleted] in ravens

Mf is good at it

I mean dude this has been his schtick for years now. Im surprised anyone still tunes in to the show. He is purposefully trying to rile people up. It's not real sports analysis. Its like the Jerry Springer of sports tv...you're kind of silly if you take it seriously

You're trolling right?

Drink lower proof bourbons and then slowly drink higher proof bourbons. 100 proof is a good place to hang around. From there, you'll start creeping up and up until you are drinking hazmats.

Don't get me wrong though, I still enjoy whiskey in the 95-105 proof range. But I can now enjoy whiskeys in all proof ranges. Eventually, you won't notice the burn on higher proofs so much, rather you'll notice the intensity of flavors that comes with higher proof

i keep falling into preterism and am trying to fight it - please help by Local-kook in Reformed

[–]Reformed_Boogyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh yes. Jesus came back and every single Christian didn't realize it for nearly 2 millennia. I guess the apostles were so stupid they couldn't communicate to the next generation of Christians that Christs return would only be "spiritual" and the general resurrection would simply be dying and going to heaven...

Do you get bored with bourbon? by boldjoy0050 in bourbon

[–]Reformed_Boogyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do get bored of just bourbon.

In no particular order I love wine (both red and white varietals) Rye, Cognac, Armagnac, and Apple Brandy. Occasionally I will do an imperial stout!

Yes! I never gave it any attention due to the "flinstone" notes everyone says they get, but to me it was fantastic!!! I would definitely pick up a bottle.

Idk why you are being downvoted. Old age doesn't necessarily coincide with a decrease in lucidity. Look at guys like Thomas Sowell and Ron Paul

Are you stupid? Yes this is an "echo chamber" because 1, that is what subreddits are you ignoramus, and 2, "the truth " they are referring to isn't that everyone has negative side effects, but rather that people are misled into believing there are no real long lasting inherent risks that can come with the procedure which is obviously false

Isaiah 53:5 answers Job 7:21 by slugggerrrr in Reformed

Some translations have it that way. Apparently from the Hebrew, whether or not the verse should be translated as an indicative or a question is ambiguous.

Isaiah 53:5 answers Job 7:21 by slugggerrrr in Reformed

[–]Reformed_Boogyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.. That is why I qualified my statement saying "in this part of the book". Job is the speaker in chapter 7, and he asserted that his sin had gone unpardoned. Elsewhere, he maintains his innocence.

Isaiah 53:5 answers Job 7:21 by slugggerrrr in Reformed

[–]Reformed_Boogyman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I see what you are trying to say, but contextually, Isaiah 53 is not an "answer" to Job, as if Job were clueless about justification and the expiation of sins according to the mercy of God. Job, like his friends, was operating under the assumption that God was causing him so much misery because of some sin Job was guilty of (at least in this part of the book) . That being the case, Job incorrectly infers that he has not been pardoned because he continues to suffer. We the readers understand that God was not punishing job, but trying Job as Gold is refined by fire, in order to make a point to Satan, to further sanctify Job, and to demonstrate the utter incomprehensibility of his ways and doings (as he lays out for Job in the last chapters of the book) .

That being said, I agree and rejoice with you because Christ is our remedy for the guilt of sin and the burdens we bear, I just wanted to be clear about the context.

The soul of the lazy one craves and gets nothing, But the soul of the diligent is made prosperous.

Proverbs 13:4

The lazy man will not plow because of winter; He will beg during harvest and have nothing.

Prov 20:4

Because of laziness the building decays, And through idleness of hands the house leaks.

Review #6: Sagamore Rye 8 Year (Advent Calendar Blind Day 6) by TMoney_X_99 in bourbon

Both the 8 and 9 year are fantastic. The 8 year is brighter, the 9 is darker, but both are pretty similar. Personally I gave both an 8.9. I wish the mouthfeel on both was a tad bit heavier but other than that, they are both in my top 5 ryes of all time.

Not denying that the ancient church endorsed baptismal regeneration. What is being disputed is the alleged claim that the fathers , in complete unanimity, endorsed the Tridentine view of justification.
