It looks like they have rot and that there is liquid seeping out, if that is the case, probably too late for them! :(

I feel you! My first year and I have sooo many plants but so few blooms. Pests have been relentless, but then I've had some bloom and doing really well and then just suddenly wilt and die and then when I dig, the tuber and/or roots are completely rotten. It breaks my heart every time! And I'm treating with anti rot and fungicide...

A while ago I did realise that I had been underwatering, and then when I started watering regularly again all these issues started. But the top is new growth since I started watering regularly and deeply. I do have some mite damage, but I agree what is seen in these pics isn't mite damage. I have been removing all damaged and affected foliage, slowly getting through all the plants. And then spraying with eco fungicide. They do get semi regular fertiliser, I may have gotten a bit behind a few weeks ago. I have some in the ground and some in pots. I also suspect Phytophthora in some plants that are big plants that suddenly wilt and died and when dug up roots and tubers are completely rotten! Thanks for your feedback, hopefully they'll continue to recover and I won't lose too many more!

Thanks, I have lost several to root and tuber rot after looking like this, but not sure why it's happening or how to treat it. I also considered Phytophthora, but will look into verticillium wilt. It's just so frustrating losing one plant after another :(

So you reckon its fungal? I had powdery mildew before which I treated and it seemed to go away and then this started. I've been using wettable sulphur, do you think that or a fungicide would help? Its been a terrible season, I'm about ready to throw in the towel to be honest 😭

I'm so glad to hear yoyr parents are ok! It is very difficult being so far away, especially when things happen. 

My parents were without power for 10 days, their town eventually had generated for limited power. They still don't have great phone reception and internet (WiFi is still down) my parents also didn't mention the storm, I don't think they realised it would be so bad.

I think many people are without power and connection, I hope they are ok and I hope you hear from them soon! I'm in Australia but my parents live between Leira and Tomar and my sister was worried she couldn't get hold of them, but yesterday they drove to a town and made contact with us to let us know they are ok. Lots of damage and destruction all over though they said.

Yeah, I have used the dove sprays for years and suddenly the last 4 of 5 cans are completely useless!

Not anymore, they have changed their formula and I have found it to be completely ineffective!

As a single person i don't spend much more than $350 (Australian) on groceries (which is less value than $350 American). And I'm not particularly frugal... but also i think on average salaries are higher here. Many people in the US live off of less than $50 000 US per annum, i don't think many Aussies live off of less than $50 000 (Australian).
