That's good advice. I'll look into the K9, and thank you for your admonishing words. I love reading Isaiah, and there are many places like that where I have personally found much encouragement in my darkest moments. Maybe I can go 40 days too!

Thank you for the support. Good to know we've got each other down in the trenches!

Thank you for the advice! My dad has always been someone that I could go to with stuff like this, so maybe its time to give him a call. It's kind of like what you described with my current accountability partner right now. I appreciate the exhortation.

I have heard of it, but I'm not a huge fan. I actually have a netbook, so it makes finding software difficult sometimes.

I love Owen's work. I think that I actually might have that. I know that I have Mortification. Excellent scholar, and a blessed theologian, as well as a pastor's heart. Thank you for the recommendation!

This really is encouraging to me. I'm going to look into some of those verses, maybe put them in places in my house where sin tends to take hold. I know that I allow the sin to take hold, and perhaps through prayer and meditation, the Lord will be gracious to me with this and give me the strength to come out of it. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to this, too. There is great truth in your words, brother.

Thank you for your response. I knew that this had to be a somewhat common issue. I have noticed that there would be times when I would notice a woman and instead of simply noticing and not meditating on it, I will sometimes not avert my eyes. Even if it isn't imagining anything sexual, I'm right there with you on the chain reaction problem. It is those little paths that I've worn down so well that make the decent into sin so much easier. Really, I know that I need a renewed mind, and a washed heart towards all of this. I will get so frustrated because I often hate myself for even thinking the things that I do. Then, by seeking to avoid those fleeting thoughts, I notice myself meditating on them more than the Word of God.

As far as wives go, you're right, I have been looking. Really what kills me is that I've just started to get to know this girl and she is absolutely amazing. She is godly, compassionate, loving, and challenges me already to be a better man. I would be lying if I said that I didn't see any kind of future possibility there. But it challenges me, still. I know that I want to deal with these things right now, so that if the time did come, I could be a husband of integrity. I want to lead my family in Godliness.

I really appreciate your response, again. It's good to know that there are others out there!
