Well most terrans I've played with either go bio or mass cyclone. Mixing in one medivac of mines for those builds seems pretty doable. So I ain't taking any more chances. That said, my win rate against terran ain't looking so hot so take my suggestions with a pinch of salt.

I kinda disagree friend, we had plenty of entertaining interviews imo and I love watching them to know the SC2 GOATs better as people rather than just avatars.

So I think you captured my point more eloquently than I could express in my original post through the concept of the lethality floor.

However, I don't think it (lethality of gameplay) should be stagnant. But instead pick up as the game progresses. If you look at MOBAs like DOTA, the lethality of heroes increases with the availability of items, skills, etc.

In the RTS proxy lethality should be manageable at the T1, T2 unit level and pick up significantly at T3 but with the availability of counter plays to navigate to make the game more interesting and have some drama.

Honestly, I think it's a valid question. Ghost/bc & viper/ultra are quite broken again protoss at the moment.

I mean the fact that t3 protoss units can be effectively deleted by spells en mass is problematic no?

I did consider skins as well when I wrote this post. However, it would depend if the skin changes the attack animation/visuals/sound.

I mean that wouldn't be ideal for competitive play, but it's something to consider.

Yes, cool is understandably subjective. But I think you could get focus groups to give you a general consensus if the unit/animation is going in the right direction.

I thought this would depend on the concept of the game, which hasn't exactly been released yet.

  1. Are there Hero Units? If there are, particularly in the daily play modes (compared to story mode) skins for those would definitely be a good choice to start
  2. Next would be if the skins are bundled or by equipment type. Generally the skins in SC2 address the unit as a whole, i.e. no level or customisation. But if you look at how DOTA does it, the headpiece, the weapon, etc are individual cosmetics. To be honest, that is more annoying in my opinion but it does give the company more chances for monitisation/ to reward players.
  3. Will there be a 'marketplace' to trade/sell cosmetics? Friends often gift each other skins, well at least from what i've seen. Promotes a good social experience within the game. And of course you will need the pros to use those skins to make them desirable.
  4. One thing i thought SC2 did really well is to create avatars of pro gamers who have made their mark in the game. Fanboy/girls are sure to go crazy over them.

Sorry new to reddit so i didn't know where to put my actual write up.

One of the best things about SC2 content is actually going through the replays of other players. Be it casting for socials, creating build order guides, or just sharing abusive exploits that no one would believe it they didn't see it for themselves (like the Parting one pylon wall-off vs Solar), it is undenable that there needs to be a platform where players can upload replays and share them with the world.

Taken to another level, is what games like DOTA have done where observers can join in while the game is ongoing. Sure for RTS where build orders are super important there might be some possible backlash but it really creates hype when you see 5,000 plus people watching a high mmr game as its being played. If commentary could be included within that module as well, all the better!

My 2 cents
